Oops, thinking as a jw.
I do enjoy your postings and look forward to your future ones.
i just wanted to openly apologize to anyone that i have ever offended on this website.
i have been thinking about this lately.
we all seem to go through the same various stages of learning ttatt, anger, sorrow, frustration, bible champion, agnostic, atheist, ect.

been lurking for a while on here and thought i'd jump in.
a great deal of many thoughtful posts on here but have to say am a bit turned off with the 'rabid apostate' ones!.
my history- was raised in a divided household, mum converted to jw when pregnant with me back in 1970, dad was never jw but was supportive of taking us to meetings, assemblies etc.
Welcome to this forum. There are those who have been harassed and beaten by the WTS and its representatives. Then there are ones who did not experience any ill-treatment. Because of the different backgrounds and experiences, comments often times will reflect those experiences. Hence do not get too upset by remarks you read.
do you think this is a fairer system and brothers who have never gotten a chance at being elder will finally get it since it's up to the co to decide?
how do you think that's going to work?
do you think the favoritism will go away or be marginalized?.
I do not foresee any change. The new arrangement basically illiminates the rubber stamp of the Branch.
leaving the university with my degree!.
exams are finished and it's just a matter of days before i walk.. i was certainly stressed about doing this.
i'm older than my classmates and armageddon was sooooo close!
Congratulations Billy. I wish I would have finished my higher education 40 years ago. May you have a grand future. A degree is definitely a bonus.
yes, you read correctly..... all appointed men have been told in a new letter that they have to pioneer to "set the lead" whenever there is a "special" campaign month.
they use some scripture saying that these ones have to show by example.... so for any of us who are appointed and have learned ttatt, it is going to be very hard to fade during this time!.
.
This always upsets me. How can the COBE, GB, or anyone else insist on others aux pio in a month of their choosing. Not everyones circumstances are the same to allow aux pioneering.
been lurking for years, but couldn't log on.
for some reason, my email spam filter is inaccessable, and ended up having to open another account, simply to become a member... wonder how many others have had a similar problem.. its been an eye opener reading everyones life experiences, often so similar.. i was almost a born in, with a hardcore family.
abusive stepfather who was one of the original jws in the area, so much so, that it was called the xxxxx family religion.... been out for 25 years, am glad every day for that!!.
Welcome. Look forward to your future posts.
What is a GB helper? Why can't the GB do those parts also? Going to a movie is fine and entertaining, but I just can't see their videos to be that exciting.
There were a few who were really loving and would go out of their way to help one in need.
i'm considering resigning as an elder.
i'm not planning to fade or stop as one of jehovah's witnesses, just stop serving as an elder.. i have responsibility in the congregation and in circuit, district, rbc, etc.
and i'm completely exhausted.
I was basically treated as an outcast by the body. The cong was fine, but I could tell that the BOE wanted nothing to do with me. They basically viewed me as leaving my post of duty.
hi fellow speakers (sorry, brothers only!):.
my first public talk, given in my early 20s, was actually a twenty-minute part of a symposium talk.
my pioneer partner friend and i each had twenty minutes and a "servant" had the concluding part.
I always counted my time for giving a public talk. Syme, I never thought of your good idea of taking an unbaptized publisher. I wish I knew about that earlier. Hospitality of always a good bonus for giving a public talk in an outside cong.
