My sister almost died.
by redvip2000 inever since i was a little boy i've been aware of this vague story about my older sister having some issues at birth, but never knew the details.. yesterday i was having a conversation with a much older cousin, who is a non-practicing jw about different watchtower issues.
while discussing the blood issue she totally came out with the story about my sister, which i never knew before.. when my sister was born some 40 years ago, my mother had the delivery at home with the help of a midwife.
i'm not entirely sure why this decision was made instead of going to a hospital.

That for sharing this touching situation. The control the WTS has on individuals is great, even in life and death situations. The real horror is that the WTS does not have the guts to claim that they are the reason why people believe in these doctrines. They want the individual to say that this is their stand and not because of the WTS.

Considered for Recommendation as Elder but Declined
by ProfCNJ inhi folks.
one of the elders was sent to our house to talk to me the possibility of being recommended as elder.
he did not know however that one of the elders who is a friend of mine had already divulged this future meeting.

It was good that I became an elder. As a MS, everything appeared nice. When I became an elder, the real world of the cong came to light. The elders fighting among themselves. The demands of the cong and the co were awful. I would never have imagined that I would be visiting this site, but when I was removed as an elder, this site was an encouragement to me.

Hi everyone !!!
by Durden ini am durden.. a teenager that is an unbaptized publisher and is trying to leave this damn cult !!!.
i have been lurking here for some time and i decided to start posting with this intro.. im from europe, both my parents are jw's, my parents are both teachers (math teachers).. my parents are "softcore" jw's, they accept all my questions and try to answer them.. i am trying to "convert" my dad (an elder which might complicate things), me and my dad recently had various discussions about the org ("discussions" on the good sense of the word).. we talked about jehovah in the nt, 1975, 1914, gb in 1st century, the cross, "new lights" ..., you know the usual stuff.. and all is going well i think, i think i can "convert" him until the end of summer.. i mean is a logical man, what can go wrong ?
man, when i found jwfacts it was like my world had collapsed, all thoses lies .... but its good now to have found the truth.

Aliens: Vatican Prepared (Not WTS)
by metatron inhttp://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/0802629.htm.
if you google 'vatican and aliens', you will find a number of references to vatican officials making positive remarks about extraterrestrials - including a few who outrightly assert that they exist.
in addition, the vatican is interested in observatory time used for locating earth-like planets.. in summary, it looks like they wish to be prepared, come what may.

Amazing how most jw do not remember what they are told. That is why the org continues to remind, remind, remind. Because of the forgetfulness of the flock, the gb can say anything and it will be accepted. It would be accepted as new light that aliens do exist.

Amazing that such an "important" event and I do not recall the talk or the speaker. Maybe it wasn't that important after all.

Shunning - The Article that started so much pain and heartbreak (WT 1944, May 15)
by bats in the belfry inmy sister and i were just talking about this very topic this morning.
when jesus supposedly chose the watchtower society as the faithful and discreet slave in 1918, no one got disfellowshiped for anything!
how is it that now, in 2012, our disfellowshipping policy is used as proof that they are god's earthly visable organisation, in that they "keep the congregation clean?".

Very well worded Terry. Alot of the time the cong gets to know of the wrong anyway. Elders have a hard time keeping secrets. Yet the cong cannot decide on the matter, but only the elders. The elders can then act as gods in the cong.
