Why do people follow me on Twitter... even though I never tweet anything?
by Elsewhere inabout six months ago i setup a twitter account.
i posted a few tweets here and there and then got bored of it and stopped.. dispite the fact that i never tweet anything, every few days i get an email notice stating that another person has started following me.. why?
can anyone think of any reason why people would want to follow someone wo never tweets?.

Yes they ignored me and my friends. They were too busy with congregational matters, not the individual members.
If the elders sensed they could hang you or get a jolly from hearing of your problems, then they were there.

Hubby did good
by mrsjones5 injust about 45 minutes ago someone knocked on my door and hubby answered (i sat at the kitchen table and watched).
it was two "brothers" out in fs and wanting to share the good news.
hubby very politely listened and when it got to the "brother" offering a wt rag hubby tactfully declined and said that he knew what they were offering (oh the madness) but was not interested (he didn't say anything about my connection to the borg).

Thankfully, like Blondie, I live in the territory of the congregation I last attended. So the JWs skip my house. Because of my past confrontations with the Mormons, when I was an active JW, even they skip my house.

Broke and Insured...

couple, broke due to medical bills, didn't want to look like they wanted help, or even sympathy.. but they decided to make the trip after opening a bill for lab work related to the accident that bankrupted them.

Thanks for the sad story that describes the constant battle with medical care. Even with health insurance, one has to know all the ins and outs of their games to play and hope the insurance pays. Basically the insurance company wants the premiums but without paying any money out of their pockets.

I clean the fridge when I have the time and I feel that it needs it.
If the kids spill something in the fridge usually I clean the whole fridge at that time. My kids can get quite messy.

I'm ticked... Paradise earth is what I want!!

but after doing some studying and after seeing the mistakes jw has made.
i now stubbled.... the watchtower also does not tell new converts that although they closed the door to heaven in 1935 they had closed the door to heaven once before in 1881. they were wrong in 1881 are they wrong again now?

Yes everything deteriorates and decays, even we get old and die. Can God make one perfect on the earth? And if so, can God do something about the sun burning out? Is anything impossible with God if He exists?

Is this an act of a deranged Pioneer JW?
by dissed insomeone arrested on a plane for preaching the bible.. who would be so stupid so as to quote the bible incessantly to the person sitting next to him?
then refusing to let the passenger get up from their seat until they finished preaching, so as not to acquire blood guilt?
and finally going beserk when he refused to stop, biting another passenger?.

I have known a couple of jw who went off the deep end. I have known of one brother who took his clothes off and ran down the street yelling that Armageddon was here. The police picked him up and I never saw him since.

One can't gauge global warming by just a year or two, it has to have a decade of information to see what the trend is.
Its like judging a baseball player by one game and say that is what he will bat.
It is interesting how one year the weather may be hot, then the next year it may be cooler.

i see alot of parents at the kingdom halls - and more than one that i have been to - that pass their children off to other people in the kh all the time.
are the children supposed to be with the parents and not with other people?

Though the children are to sit with their parents, it can be difficult for the parents to pay attention to the parts with children distracting them. But why give these children to others at the kh so that they would be distracted? The meetings are not the most exciting thing for todays children.

Bethelites and Athletes - are they the same?
by babygirl30 inforgive me if i sound completely cynical - but i have always wondered what the big deal with was brothers who are living at bethel!
i have known sisters that would give their right arm to be around them, snag one, and/or be able to say she is 'dating' a bethelite - as if that's the greatest thing in the world.
jw's from all over the world come to 'visit' them and they receive clothing, trips, food, boarding - all for free!

The reason that those from Bethel are so looked up to is their self-sacrifice and their closeness to the center of the WTS.
Yet they are no different than the rank and file jw. Some are super individuals, while others are awful.
