I would like to hear your experiences with being SHUNNED
by jwfacts ini am going to put together a page of short experiences of how shunning has affected exjws.
you do not have to be disfellowshipped, even if you were shunned after being marked or after fading.
all comments are welcome, such as who shunned you, how long since family have spoken to you, what your situation is, why you are being shunned and how it has made you feel.

I was never baptised but I have been shunned. This story really sticks in my memory.
I had just gotten engaged to my now-husband (non witness) when we went to a wedding and reception (witness). My family has been friends with both sides of the wedding party for years. They had all met my honey and had no problem with him attending. I was still attending meetings occasionally- maybe two, three times a month.
Also attending was my best friend since grade school. We had been really close until she picked out the guy that she wanted to marry and decided to chase him. She moved about half an hour away, so we didn't hang out as much as in the past. When I introduced her to my honey, she said, "Oh, how nice to meet you", shook his hand, and then literally turned her back on us to talk to someone else.
We stood there awkwardly for about a minute, then went back to our table. I told him some lame excuse for her behavior and he shook his head and said, "No, you just got snubbed."
I sighed and agreed.
That was over eight years ago. She still lives about half an hour away. I haven't talked to or seen her since.
It still hurts that this person that was like a sister to me could throw away our friendship like it was nothing- stray tissue paper tossed out the car window. On the other hand, her behavior made me never want to step inside the Hall again. With a friend like that...

Aren't You Embarrassed That YOU Ever Believed Any Of The Watchtower Bullsh*t?

How often does a Wt song run through your head
by Lady Lee inyesterday i was sitting here and all of a sudden realized i was humming one of those dreadful songs.
i even remembered the words!
<chills>.. so i sat here and started singing other songs out loud, which i normally don't do even though i live alone and don't have to listen to people begging me to stop singing.. so how do you get those songs out of your head?.

I don't really have any advice for your situation other than to read up! Many others on here have gone through what you are now.

Did you really pay attention at conventions or assemblies?
by donny ina co-worker of mine whose family (2 daughters, wife) are jw's related a funny story yesterday.
his wife and daughters missed the friday portion of the convention last week in order to attend a wedding of a worldly relative.
at dinner she mentioned to him that she would go to the convention this friday to make up for the one she missed.. he then asked why and she said so she could get the information she missed.

I would doodle in my notebook or write fan fiction so that it looked like I was paying attention.
The best part about being female at the assemblies was that I could arrange my hair to cover my face, lean against the arm rest, and take a nap!

I'm a few episodes behind, but I thought it was awesome that they brought back the weeping angels. Freaky!
