Thor answered my prayer
by Stealth inwhere i live in the usa we are experiencing record breaking drought and heat.
over a month with no rain and 27 consecutive days with heat above 90. forcast calls for tripple digit heat for the next 7 days.. last night i broke down an prayed to thor, this morning he answered my prayer as i heard thunder at 5am and woke up to see rain.
only 1/10 of an inch, but rain that was not in the forcast.. is this not proof that thor is a true god?.

What was the last great deal you got?
by Chemical Emotions ini'm leaving this pretty open, but the last great deal i got was a new-quality steif plush (about $70 dollar value, i'd optimistically guess, when it was new).
for about 2 or 3 bucks.

Hubby got a PS3 with 2 controllers and 3 games for free. Dude posted it on Craiglist after his kids were fighting over it, threw the controllers at each other, and broke a couple of windows. Hubby responded to the post first. He bought the guy a 12 pack- didn't want to give the guy nothing for it.

Curious, how would you handle A little brat like me?
Did your parents make you clean up your messes? I think that having to fix my mistakes would have been a good punishment. At the very least, I wouldn't have made that mistake again!

One time after meeting, my brother, sister, and I went outside the hall and were messing around. My brother called me a name- can't remember what- and I swung around towards him. Unfortunately, I was also holding my meeting bag, smacked him across the face, and gave him a bloody nose. He was probably about 6, so I was 8 or 9. He went running in to tell on me and I got the "Just wait til we get home!" spiel.
We get home and I have no chance to say that it was an accident, I didn't mean to hit him. My parents ask, "Do you think you deserve a spanking?" Total mind-f@ck. I really grudgingly say yes, because I'd probably get a worse spanking if I said no. I asked if I could go to the bathroom first, which they reluctantly allowed. I was so scared of getting spanked, I couldn't go at first. I could hear my mom say, "She's just trying to avoid getting spanked" and finally my bladder let go. It was pretty full, so I was actually kind of happy, like my bladder was saying, "Up yours!"
My dad used a piece of 2x4 on my ass. My bare ass. At that age, I was getting pretty sensitive about being seen naked, so it was humiliating. I had to bend over my bed and stay there. My sister brought it up a couple of months ago- "Remember when Dad took a chunk of board to you!" -

A little update on my family
by sooner7nc ina few of you may remember that my wife had a kidney transplant early last year.
since then the kidney has been incredible, giving her a new lease on life.
it's really been good to see the light in her eyes that i had missed for quite a long time.. the counterpoint to this good news is the problems we have had with our son coltin.

Had the secrecy around Kendrick’s 2004 conviction not been put in place, that might have been a semi-valid point – demonising a whole faith and community because of individual incidents is absolutely not what this is about. That said, it’s the idea that a church-wide policy enforced the silence that is so disturbing.
From comments that I've read, this is the point that so many active Witnesses are not grasping. The Watchtower Society policy was to cover up child molestation, not individual Kingdom Hall policy. This came from the top.

New Video aka Sparlock- View of Active JW
by XBEHERE inso over the weekend i was in a cargroup for service, yes i still go out but i dont ring doorbells or knock i just go out to keep wife and other elders off my back, anyway the video came up and i said nothing about it but the other 3 people in the car ( a pioneer and 1 elder, 1 publisher) said that it was good.
yes you heard correctly good!
the pioneer even stated that the annimation was good and it is short enough to hold a young childs attention.

I think a lot of jws will say it's good even if they think it's a bunch of bs. If another jw heard them dissing it, there would be some meetings with the elders. "You're not appreciating Jehovah's spiritual food!"
