  For those in any doubt that the Society is at war with Facebook...

  ...take a look at this from page 29 of the latest october 2012 awake!.

  the gloves are now well-and-truly off.

  referring to facebook as a "social networking website" clearly isn't working.. the society now feels compelled to start being more specific about which websites it doesn't want you to visit!.

  Simon, most athletic girls I have known, save cheerleaders are not that self aware when it comes to beauty and vanity.

  As to her wanting attention, may I mention that none of the other runners did anything similar? And they all prepared for the race just as much?

  Maybe she wasn't thinking about getting attention. Or maybe not. When I was a teen-ager, there was this girl everyone - even girls- called Tic-Toc. Tic-Toc swayed all her weight from one side to the other as she walked. Maybe that was just her way of walking, but no one thought so.

  For the first time polygamists were refused baptism and those already baptized in that condition were told to clean up in order to be acceptable in Jehovah’s organization.

  What does "clean up" mean in this context?

  Suppose the man was the breadwinner for himself, his two (only two) wives and six children, three with each wife. Does that mean he divorces her and does not continue to provide for her?

  Just a question.

  And when two "Christians" try to get someone to join, do they tell the wives that the husband will need to "clean up" in order for him to become a baptized member?

  if you grow up speaking english and you move to mexico you don't automatically speak spanish, know customs, understand currency, possess skills.

  for self-support or have any special insight into latino mindset.. .

  why would you expect leaving jehovah's witnesses would leave you any less ill-equipped to navigate the real world?.

  Why get "personal" when discussing a topic?

  trading insults happens among kids all the time.. intellectual development hasn't progressed to the point where they can present contrary ideas and opinions with persuasive appeal to reasons, facts and logic.. "i know you are; but what am i?".

  "your momma's so fat....".

  so, they fall back on childish mocking, provocation and personal attack.. as we grow older and have more education and sophistication our minds should mature---or so you'd think!.
