WT's view on child abuse?!?!?!

i don't know if this has been posted before, but i looked up pedophile on the wts's website and it pulled up the oct 8th 1993 awake, this is the first paragraph of the article:.

misconception: child abusers are usually strangers, deranged misfits who abduct children and use physical force to abuse them.. in the vast majority of casesfrom 85 to 90 percent by some estimatesthe abuser is a person the child knows and trusts.

rather than using force, abusers often manipulate the child into sexual acts gradually, taking advantage of the child's limited experience and reasoning ability.

Anyone Collect Homies??

my friends and i started collecting these little figures from the quater machines in the grocery store called homies... just wondering if anyone else has these in their supermarkets/drug stores... they are so funny... little guys drinking 40's, holding skateboards.

they're great.

A Mike Myers moment...

late last night, i made a grilled cheese sandwhich and stuck "wayne's world" in the vcr.

i've seen it dozens of times, but it never stops being funny!

and i thought about how clever mike meyers is to come up with such a great character like wayne campbell... then i thought about austin powers and the fact that part three is coming out soon!

Feeling helpless about....

the fact that i am moving back in with my parents.

my entire immediate family is inactive (mother, father, brother), and they love me and accept the fact that i am no longer a part of the wts (atleast they say they do, and i believe them).

and they're not really the reason i'm feeling so scared, terrified to move back in.

no disfellowship for inactive?

my mother was having a moment while she went to visit a friend a few weeks ago, worrying about me being disfellowshiped and having our relationship change.

the sister told my mom, that i could not be disfellowshiped because i am not an active memeber of the congregation.

supposedly, her daughter was a full time pioneer, stopped attending meetings, and realized that she is a lesbian.

it figures, that the day of the dateline special, my cable gets turned off.

and my best friend is in france, and there is no way my (j/w) parents will let me watch it at their house.

Individual Thought

a few nights ago i asked two of my friends to watch the "young people ask: how can i make real friends?

" video with me, so that i could get an objective outside opinion.

and after watching it, we got into an hour long discussion about individual thought, the freedom of the mind, and the diffrences between personal opinions and forced opinions.

this is my first post on this site, and i feel very liberated and comfortable, so i have a feeling that this d/b may be a good thing for me.

my story (although to my "worldly" support group it sounds strange) is alot like many of yours.

i was raised a witness, altough my parents have been inactive as long as i can remember.
