My latest university experience...
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inthis isn't a jw experience, but for those of you that have been following my life, i thought i'd have a drink and share this strange event in my post-jw life.. for you wonderful newbies, you can catch up on highlights of my story in the few threads i've started here.
i'm finishing the junior year of my engineering degree and the classes are hard as hell.
i used to be among the smartest students in the room until i hit the 300 level university courses.

I just had a thought that made me feel so much better about this fade...
by sosoconfused inthis is not monumental... i am sure all of you think it all the time.. but as a 3rd gen born-in ex-elder ex-pioneer ex-bethelite i spent so much time in this relion believing that for some reason that god, who loves all humans and created all things only wanted a few people to get knowledge of him - and this small group in america was his choice.. .
now as i said i am sure 99% of you probably came to that realization before and it is common sense, but the very fact that as a grown man i never really thought about this for more than 15 seconds.
the whole idea is just ridiculous and freaking stupid.

I have found it really helpful to study the early history of the bible students. If you can understand charles Taze Russell and the early movement in the context of America at the time and the after effects of the 2nd great awakening it just all makes more sense. Bible students were just another group of many many groups influenced by millerites, cambellites, adventists etc. Russel even wanted to call his group the church of jesus christ but that was taken as we all know hahah. I find this helps eleviate any doubts that you might be leaving the right religion. Also try and be at peace with the ups and downs of emotions. be kind to yourself. Its a long journey. theres many people on this board who have been out for years and still get very sad about things and regretful of some aspect. stay strong. Love& support FIF.

I almost wished i took the blue pill....
by 20yearfader insince joining this site and having my eyes opened,i find i'm now dealing with a lot of emotions that were suppressed.one being the passing of loved ones,in the org we were discouraged from showing proper emotions due to the fact that if you did you were considered weak since they the dearly departed were only sleeping.now im being bombarded with dreams of my loved ones that i,due to my brainwashing never had the emotional release that i should have had.i'm just wondering how others on this site are coping, and dealing with the fact that everything we was taught was false almost as a way to keep up under control,as we lost years and decades of time.i almost wish i keep my head and the sand and had taken the blue pill.what has helped you all deal with this ...new religion......no religion...etc.

imerse yourself in your new free life. Do the things your couldnt do, educate yourself, the road of healing is a long one if it even has an end. I recommend distracting yourself for awhile. You have to learn to prioritize the pain of it or it can take over your life and make you bitter, preventing you from moving on. Good luck . I hope this forum helps you

I found the videos very upsetting. I see the organization twisting and perverting into something worse and more cult like every. Its not as if it was ever anything wonderful but its getting so far away from anything even loosely a legitimate christian faith and becoming more and more something I dont recognize. It makes me feel more isolated and more freakish that I am a product of an environment that doesnt even really exsist anymore. I grew up with the yellow bible stories book and that traumatized me enough (babies dying in the flood :s) but this these videos I dont even want to imagine what their impact is going to be on these children. My neice and nephew are being raised witnesses right now and Im sure they excitedly got this dvd at their assembly and have watched it a million times by now. This amping up of mind control at a young age makes me thing its going to be harder in the future for people to get free and that is devastating to me :(

A truly mind boggling experience
by Iamallcool ini dated someone earlier tonight and she looks pretty good, she invited me over to her home.
she has a very good salary(she has phd degree) but i do not understand why she chose to live in a white trash mobile home park.
i asked her how long she is going to live there, she said she just signed 2 year lease last month.

Victoria, Australia: Brief Update - Steven Unthank is still Acting Prosecutor, etc.
by AndersonsInfo incourt hearing results for december 6, 2011:.
steven unthank is still the acting prosecutor (and that's why he could not comment on the case on the"dialogue" program), and all 5 cases are still before the courts.
the crown informed the court that the office of public prosecutions are "acting as a facilitator at the moment"; and that the police investigation is "quite well progressed"; and that the police are awaiting response from the department of justice.. .

I think this was the wrong way for the police to go about this. It sounds harassing and staged for shock value to interupt a meeting. and why cancels a kids bible reading? how would that have been a violation of anything this case is about. incidents like this only fuel the " o were so persecuted" fire to witnesses. I can see the talk tiying this in now
" Brothers and sisters we are being persecuted everywhere, even in Australia, where police barged in unanounced to our Australian brothers and sisters in Victoria's meeting and intimidated them and tried to coerce them any to speaking against Jehovahs chosen organization ,let us pray for them "
