  Finally finding my way out...

  well, its been about 2 1/2 years and have slowly done less and less.

  i've been to about 30 minutes of a meeting in the last month and a half where i stayed out back and with my daughter.. i've been looking for the right timing to leave but had decided i will go anyways by the time my daughter is about 1 years old.

  but, it just so happens that my some members of my family including and mostly my parents have actually given me a good enough of an excuse to get out.. they have broken to many rules.

  so...i'm a born in, fading, can't break away with a df or da for various reasons.

  as some of you may know from posts i have made, i am pretty much a total non-beleiver is god in general and a full throttle "this is bullshit" believer for the watchtower.. i've been doing some work for a friend of mine who is in a similar situation as me with the exception that he is not sure if he beleives in god, but he does believe the watchtower is bs (he's a born-in too, his wife, his family, all his friends are wt people, etc).. so, since i have been working with him we have had some interesting conversations about the wt and their bullshit.

  most of his "friends" are people i know, but he has known them a lot longer.

  I dont think Bane gets what this site is for.there is no time limit for it .Just becuase people have been on here for years doesnt mean their not "over it" and even if there not why is that anyones call to make but theirs .Some people on this site have been through more trauma in their years as witnesses then most people have been through in a lifetime So if this site gives them comfort and support its nobodys place to downgrade that.

  Congrats cognac!! I wish my mom had your courage when I was a toddler things would have been very different! Best of luck with everything!!!

  I am actually partying with witnesses or quizi witnesses lol every night of the assembly this weekend and Im only actually going myself sunday afternoon .... that is if we can get our hungover selves out of bed in time to make the lunch break!

  considering the fact we've had so many newbies here i thought it would be good to just open it up to you folks to see how life is going for you since you exited the witnesses ?

  it's hard many times to move on- however with lots of ex-witnesses on the board here who have been through similar experiences - perhaps those of us who have been out awhile can give you someideas on how to move on in your post jw life to make it a little easier .

  so fire away newbies and recently exited jw 's.

  Ive been solidly out for about 3 years now and things couldnt be much better.I live on the other side of the country from my JW family and friends I have a whole new life.Im going into my 3rd year of uni about to declare a dual major I have a handfull of great and supportive friends and Ive had healthy and nurturing romantic relationships.I also feel like a much better and kinder person then I ever was as a witness its a total 180.Things arnt always perfect of course exspecially with dealing with the messiness of things with my JW loved ones and my own emotional recovery but I wouldnt change a thing

  Convention Talks Audio?

  I looked into getting a recording of the whole assembly So I could write a piece on it without actually having to go and unless your a witness in good standing I wouldnt recommend anyone going poking around on this topic.I talked to one disassociated person who knew some1 who had permission to record the entire convention off the sound system, but after I told him I wanted it to have the recordings to publish something on the sessions the free flow of information ended.So be carefull who you ask and what you do with what you get I know some people have been "counsulled" for publishing such recordings on the internet or sending them around as chain emails.

  so my mom is die-hard jw despite disagreeing with some teachings from the gb.

  we were talking today about the generation thing, and she told me the generation teaching was inconsequential.

  i told her how as a child i thought it was huge that the end would come before the 1914 people died.

  She sounds like a brave woman to even be considering this. So maybe you think it would "kill her" to get def'd but the experince may show her she has courage she didnt know she had.Encourage her to write it on the basis of if its the truth they have nothing to hide and no reason not to give her a logical response and when they dont let the the chips fall as they may but be there to support her

  I call bullsh*t on this .No way its legit Ive never heard of a "memorial" service for anyone a year after their death and the KH and if it is true its a total outrage to everyone of us whose ever lost a witness family member or friend and were never allowed to express our feelings publically at their funerals.

  The Jehovahs Witness family weekend

  having been out of the organisation for over 4 years and having finally released my kids from the hellish existance that is life as a jw, it struck me today how enjoyable our weekends are in comparison to when we were jw's.. the weekends are vital for us just now.

  my wife doesn't work but i work full time from very early in the morning.

  i don't get to see my beutiful children in the morning during the week.

  Loosie!! lol on point 9! I enjoy going out on friday and saterday nights with no early morning brainwashing to attend feeling free and unafraid :D
