Bez as far as your children are concerned the next little while is going to be tough but your giving them a wonderful gift; a whole world of potential friends.I was raised JW and had the same friends my whole life in effect i never really had to make a new friend so i had to learn that skill at 16 with not always good results.Your giving your children the oppritunity to be balanced socialized children and later teenagers and adults. The friends they have now will eventually be forgotten and replaced with poteintially lifelong friends for whom religion is not an issue

"...the times we are living in..."
by bez inso, just had one of our 'elders' ring to see how we are getting on and if we need any help etc.. when my hubby was honest and said we were ok and that we had decided to just move on with our lives and our family right now and concentrate on that and nothing else, but thanked him for their interest and care over last few months.... he replied by saying, ok, he would let the body of elders know this???
?, and he also reminded him to not forget "the times we are living in".... my husband told me the conversation after coming off the phone and now i feel, after being on a high the last couple of weeks (despite coming off my anti-d's cold turkey, drs orders) , i feel now actually really crap, quite scared and once again like i am making a bad decision for my kids... what is wrong with me!!!.

you shouldnt, I agree smokers should have their own little patios or areas secluded from other people in work places, malls etc.I guess the "considerate" or inconsiderate smoker is something different in different areas. The inconsideration probably comes from people who smoke being friends with other smokers or from a family of smokers so they are desensitized to that not everyone smokes and assume its not going to bother anyone.Another thing is culture Im from the east coast of Canada where ALOT of people smoke a much higher percentage then the rest of the country and its so ingrained in the lifestyle that people for the most part do not make it an issue. My real point isnt so much a defense of smoking as smokers and personal freedoms I just feel people are to hard on smokers and not hard enough on other health issues that people give themselves such as obiesity.

serenty the smokers you are talking about are just plain rude and they would probably be rude people even if they didnt smoke and everyone knows second hand smoke is bad im not saying it isnt, people shouldnt smoke where children live or have to spend any time.Im just saying if individuals want to smoke and ARNT subjecting anyone else to it they should people able to do that in peace. The taxes generated from smoking (at least in canada) go to healthcare education and social programs smokers contribute to society like everyone else and shouldnt be so stereotyped and looked down upon.Everyone with their lovely pink lungs should just enjoy that and continue to work on their own health and wellness and let others do the same

They can't understand how I can be so inactive and yet such a good guy.
by Wasanelder Once ini've been faded, inactive, for 6 years or more and the witnesses i know are astounded that i'm not in trouble.
they don't say it but its on their minds.
i do the things thier "brothers and sisters" don't do towards them.

I have the exact same experince.Witnesses even comment how much happier I seem in the last few years.I even have my parents praising my independence and success to the people in their congrecation when they ask how im doing.Im hoping to rub off on them as well exspecially witness youth around my age who are still living with their parents working dead end jobs.I tell them how awesome my life is and their jelous ,maybe itll help motivate them to explore their options.

Research shows Jehovah's Witnesses grow faster in less developed countries
by slimboyfat inpeople have often commented that much of the current growth of jws is taking place in developing countries.
social researchers studying the growth of jws, mormons and seventh-day adventists have confirmed this observation in a recently published article: .
r. t. cragun and r. lawson.

I think its sad and pathetic that they prey on people in developing lands by offering them false hope and fake love. They have enough problems a lot of the time without dealing with this BS

Finally finding my way out...
by cognac inwell, its been about 2 1/2 years and have slowly done less and less.
i've been to about 30 minutes of a meeting in the last month and a half where i stayed out back and with my daughter.. i've been looking for the right timing to leave but had decided i will go anyways by the time my daughter is about 1 years old.
but, it just so happens that my some members of my family including and mostly my parents have actually given me a good enough of an excuse to get out.. they have broken to many rules.
