  Shark Evolution

  i used to consider sharks to be evidence for creation - and against evolution because it was stated that they are largely unchanged after millions of years ( hence, 'what evolution?')..

  that's not the case, however.

  HOME SCHOOL and the upcoming generation of scientifically illiterate kids

  when i worked for a book store i became familiar with beka text books for home school.. i spoke with the mothers who came looking for them.

  i realized something didn't smell right.. then, i realized there are a couple of generations of fundamentalist kids who have had no exposure.

  to the scientific method, science facts or any conversancy with physics or biology or history as a result of beka textbooks.. in a nutshell here is the situation:.

  Which reminds me of my daughter when very young:

  Bedtime reading of a much loved story. Her, thumb in mouth, security blanket clutched tightly, eyes closed.

  Me, in a hurry, sure she was asleep, trying to "get out of there".

  Her, devastingly, through slumbered, slurred, speech: "Dad, you turned over two pages!" then, zonc! gone!

  Why “Thousands of years” instead of Billions???

  A curious statement!

  I don't recall Dawkins saying anything publically about Scottish Devolution, Badger Culls, The Public Defecit or the Price of Fish! Nor would I expect him to!

  i understand that they claim to have the responsibility to preach to every corner of the earth, so they can encourage armageddon to come quickly.

  (matthew 24:14 "and this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

  what rationale do they have, for keeping track of their hours and literature placements?

  as a daily visitor of this site i am shocked by how judgemental i am.. .

  if someone makes a valid point but does not spell well it colours my judgement.. .

  if someone who is a clown has excellent grammar i give them leeway.. as an aside i am a gramaphobe.. .

  I always read your posts with pleasure: Brief, to the point and thoughtful.

  I would not find them thus if bad grammar, punctuation and sloppyness got in the way.

  god-of-the-gaps. Should we or shouldn't we fiil in the gaps with God?

  science imo does not have all the answers.

  when i discover gaps in science, it's easy for me, as a temporary measure to fill in the gaps with god.

  i do this until i have learnt something new.. what about you?
