Thanks Talesin, I just found it too. That one turned out good for the WT which it always seems to have until now, I think she was ordered to pay them for legal costs too. She didn't have the money but I guess the message was, don't sue us, we will win and ask for costs so that you don't Appeal. I am disgusted just reading about it.

I seem to remember there was one about 10 years ago in Ontario, The court case was held in Toronto. I think Grace/Mouthy attended it. I wish I could find it now. She lost though. It was somewhat the same type of thing if I recall but several years had elapsed before she came forward.
I am sure there are lots out there but not sure if there is anything recent or ongoing?? I would be interested as I live in Canada.

My JW mum is in hospital
by nugget inmy poor mum fell over on sunday and broke her hip.
she was taken to hospital and yesterday had an operation to place a pin in the joint.
this was obviously a worrying time for all concerned and my dad let us all know what was going on.

I empathize with what you re going through with the JW factor and the blood, its like they are all programmed like robots. Its the same MO reaction, no matter who it is and where they live.

Some of you aren't going to like this news, but here goes...
by AndersonsInfo inrick simons, candace conti's attorney, will be interviewed on the six screens of the watchtower conference phone line this evening.
there's a good chance that candace will join in, but that's not set in stone.
the host of the program, rick, told me to tell everybody that he is learning how to calm down and to do better on these conference calls.

I wish I could have heard this call last night but thanks everyone for relating what you could here. I am hoping it will be on Ricks website soon for us to hear later.
My boyfriend who has NO interest in exjw stuff was here last night and I don't get to spend any evenings with him but Saturdays and Sundays so I had to forgo the call. I was so dying to get on there though,
I just read that some people though Shamus was the older man, I nearly fell of my chair laughing when I heard Shamus post that it wasn't him. I could just see him being indignant and all. LOL I know him from playing games over at a exjw site and I couldn't imagine him being on that show.
Can't wait to hear the recording and hear what Mouthy/Grace and Barbara and the lawyer said.

the award can be explained as it was decided: separate compensatory and punitive damages.
the punitive award is established in law to punish wrongdoing - here, the conscious disregard for others - and deter that conduct in the future.

OMG this is so HUGE and exciting!!! I have been reading about it all day yesterday and today. I couldn't post here until now as I wasn't on the right computer.
Congratulations to Candace for being so brave to go through with this despite all the hardships involved. She has become a Hero in my eyes.
Those of us who are exjws were all in some way abused by the WT Society but not all in a way that we can sue them. This is a victory for us all!!!
Has anyone brought this attention to the Canadian Media yet?? If not what is involved in doing that. This has to be told to everyone.
