  Comparing JW's and MLM's

  so one of my in-laws spent the weekend with us.

  supposedly she came over to do some shopping for her daughter's wedding.

  turns out she was here to make another stab at recruiting us into her latest mlm.

  alot of members don't have a flag or country name beside their user name, and well frequently one doesn't know where that particular person is from, tell us your country, state, county or what ever you feel like giving out.

  if you are going to post please at least devulge your country.. me, i'm originally from taranaki, new zealand via auckland.

  in my 10 years as a jw i never saw anyone partake, jw or otherwise.

  the last annointed in my town died about 15 years ago or so.

  Many years ago a witness family had their non witness grandmother visit from England, around the time of the memorial, she attended and yes she drank the wine, it caused alot of gossip in the congo, I thought it was really funny.

  i recently managed to find this rather lovely forum after much digging through the dirt that is the wbts and i am very glad i did.

  although i never went as far as becoming a baptised minister, i had been attending meetings for almost a year now.

  so here i am, and i guess this is my attempt at saying hey :).

  Santa Claus

  i was thinking about if i should start telling my 2 year old about santa claus.

  after realizing that i've been lied to my whole life from all the jw bullcrap should i lie to my child about santa claus?

  do you think its ok to say, "be good or santa wont bring you any toys this christmas.

  A lie = an untruth

  Santa's bring gifts tonite at midnight going to be everywhere at once not a lie, however, I do agree with you children need to given the chance to be children and fantasy, magic and make believe are all part of that.

  i always hated having someone with us when we went to do anything.

  I remember a few years ago a brother in his 40s (never married) dating a younger sister, they had to have a chaperone, his uncle went with them, now he only had a truck to go out in & could only seat 1 passenger in the cab, yep his uncle sat in the cab, his girl friend had to sit in the back of the truck on a poorly secured lounge suite. what a dumb ars, he was an erlder.
