Yes, it is difficult to stop the attitude, especially if one is born into it like myself, I have to fight everyday not to be like it, & I have not had anything todo with jws for 7 years

if he gave us free will wouldn't he want us to have all the knowledge we could so we could make a decision based on that knowledge?.

alot of members don't have a flag or country name beside their user name, and well frequently one doesn't know where that particular person is from, tell us your country, state, county or what ever you feel like giving out.

if you are going to post please at least devulge your country.. me, i'm originally from taranaki, new zealand via auckland.

for the most of this decade i have been living & working in brisbane, queensland, australia.. .

' i grew up in said religion and attended two english speaking congregations and lastly a sign language congregation in britain.

i think this gives away my identity to some friends i have on here ;).

There's A Ghost At My Place Of Employment

ok some of you will laugh at this, but it's true, there is a spirit that haunts the premises where i work.. it has spoken to me once when i was locking up, it was 1 single word "hello", i looked around and saw nothing, i ignored it, set the alarm locked the door & went home.

other times i have felt something brush passed me as i have entered the building early in the morning.

the experience that got to me most happened the other nite when i was called back to the store by security, as i pulled into the drive way there was a man standing at the rear of the building, in the split second of looking away he dissapeared, there's no way that he could have run off the property in that split second.. what do you think?.

Not sure why but it was like that when we bought the home. We will be opening it up this summer so I am anxious to see if we find anything up there.

Keep us up to date on that will you, interested in wat u find.

Women as second class citizens

i don't know about anyone else, but even when i was 14 or 15 i had an issue with the fact that women are weaker vessels than men and we are to be submissive to our "head" of the house etc.... people just assumed i was a moody teenager trying to be cool by disagreeing with those scriptures but i was a feminist in the making.. i even asked an elder's wife about it and i said to her: "you're a headstrong woman, how do you feel about this?

do you think you should succumb to paul's every word and do as he says all the time??".

she replied: "i hate that scripture too sarah.

I have always thought the same, why? why should someone, bcoz of the sex they were born be a cause of discrimination in the (now) cult, everyone should have the same opportunety.

Male head of the house? what a load of crap, marriage is a partnership, not for the male to make the final decision.

i guess one of the things that i hold most against the senile octagenarians who run the wtbts and tell us things like "rock music is from satan" is how much music i either missed out on or felt guilty about listening to.

i love music.

everyone who knows me can tell when i am not listening to enough music.

Do you like Humble Pie? I didn't like them all that well but their Live album is AMAZING. THeir version of "Walk on guilded splinters" the Dr. John voodoo ritual is .... well, you just have to listen to it. Then there is their version of "I don't need no doctor".

I wonder how many JW teenagers and young adults succumbed to the pressure and threw out their "questionable" music?
