  Question for Faders.....

  did you all start getting the "full court press" from "friends" to start doing more things socially as you began your fade?.

  i havent been invited to do a whole lot the last few months, but now all of a sudden i am getting phone calls and invites to do things.

  fortunately, it hasnt been - "hey lets go out in field service" or anything like that since i would tell them to take a hike (which at this point means make myself busy at work or otherwise) .

  I am experiencing the opposite as well. I get a few invites, but just like OTWO said in a previous post of mine, a fade is a fade and I do not want nor need any fair-weathered friends in my life nor do I want to be pressured with all that "Come back to Jah" nonsense. I have recently joined facebook and found a lot of high school friends on there and have made little bit of friends from old jobs I had and my volunteer service. Since fading from the borg, I have been able to focus on myself and planning major and meaningful goals. I say life, as challenging as it can be sometimes, is truly good.

  PS - In joining Facebook, I have had a couple of JWs wanting to add me to their friends list. Felt good to ignore them.

  there was no major breaking up of the friendship or anything, other than her not liking a statement i made.

  Thanks all for your replies and for helping me to see the error of my thoughts. What was I thinking? Not gonna go nor will I send her a card. I have no desire to rekindle any relationship with this chick nor do I feel up to an interogation process either.

  I thought the samething. No invitation to the wedding, but an invitation to the reception? Very strange. It was a broadcast email invitation and I too found it tacky as hell.

  I've been invited to attend a wedding reception of a "sister" that I was formerly close with. There was no major breaking up of the friendship or anything, other than her not liking a statement I made. Just a distancing apart. However, I haven't heard from this woman in over 2 years, so this is a new discovery for me (actually have heard of her engagement from a third-party).

  Since I am new in my fade and have abandoned all friendships with JWs (except one) not sure if I should attend or not. She personalized the email asking me to attend and I don't want to appear rude. I am very happy for her and do hope the best, but to not hear from this person in such a long time and to all of a sudden receive an invitation is a bit awkward to me.

  I know it is a personal decision, but I am just curious of what would you have done if in this situation?

  Elders Trash Face Book

  just found out that elders and spies are trolling face book and my space.

  some elders in xxx congregation began trolling face book looking for wayward souls and using the links to other friends etc to get more info.

  they waited until they had enough ammo on the 'friends' and then printed off some of the conversations being had....questioned the 'friends' who of course denied everything..and then they produced the printed copies to catch them in the lies.

  I remember this being brought up at an assembly. The elder made mention of how they have a number of users' info from a network site and how some were sitting among the crowd. Everyone whispering and wondering who they were. Not surprised they're going that route.

  her son, jesse, is in serious condition.. my son is in surgery and may lose his hand and arm.. jesse got an infection in a cut on his finger.

  his finger and hand swelled to the size of an arm .. .

  they have to do surgery on his hand and arm.

  i have attended just a handful of meetings over the 2 months.

  i went yesterday, because i had an assignment and i really wanted to see my mate talk about masturbation from the platform, knowing he would be very uncomfortable about it!!!!.

  anyway after the meeting i was approached by the cobe.

  Thanks for the info cantleave. I am newly into my fade and didn't even think much about the New CO coming around soon and how I will be hounded for time. So far, I haven't had any elders or "friends" call me. I haven't turned in any time in about 4 months or so nor have I bothered with going to any meetings. My mother had a few in her congregation inquire of my decision of a KH. She just shields them off with some kind of generic excuse (Go mom!). I guess I better start getting myself ready for the possible hounders soon.
