  sorry about the previous thread i posted.

  i was holidaying in hong kong and for some reason i couldn't post.. what i find hypocritical is the depiction of the plane in the video.

  it appears as some sort of theme item throughout the video, flying through the air in the background as some sort of hidden message.

  I noticed the plane, at the end of the video, it ends with the plane flying in the sky again. The song video show a butterfly flying away, further and further until it is out of sight. Do you think this was subliminal, put in there by apostates making the video, as their way of saying, get the hell out of there!

  PZ Myers has posted about Sparlock!!!

  i wrote a letter to pz myers about the sparlock vid and asked all of my ex-jw pals to do the same if they had a few moments.

  and he posted about it!.

  pz myers is huge in the skeptic/atheist community, so the vid is spreading to non-jws as well.

  I wrote to our local newspaper, the St. Louis Post Dispatch, to a columnist there, in the hopes he would take it on or pass it on to the religous columnists. I don't know if he will, but hope so.

  at first the sparlock thing was just a cute little diversion.

  the icon of an amusingly out of touch cheaply produced dvd.

  somehow it has spiralled into a kind of focal point of society bashing.

  Well, either way, I sent an email to our local columnist of the St. Louis Post Dispatch, suggesting he might want to google it and told him how the ex-jw community has made Sparlock their mascot. He might or he might not, but wanted to get it out there somehow.

  If they aren't volunteers of the org, then how do pioneers get a tax deduction for their car expenses? (Sorry if it was brought up already.) But maybe the IRS would want to look in to this, if that is the stance the org has taken, or at least Australia officials may want to look in to if they have different stances in different countries; you know, theocratic warfare.

  United Nations mentioned in Watchtower publications

  hi everyone, i have some questions for anyone that can answer.

  i've been doing some research in the whole united nations scandal with the watchtower organization.

  and i am wondering what the society's view on the un is as of late.

  It wasn't just a silly doctrine to them back in 1980 when I was studying. From what I recall, Rutherford predicted the League of Nations would be resurrected in some form, as he said back then it was the wild beast of Revelation. Then it happened and everyone thought he really knew or had some kind of way of knowing that from God. I have heard lately that he had heard of talk of it among people in high stations so that's how he knew it was coming back. Anyway, that was a major thing when I studied and when I was a witness in the 1980's, so much so that I noticed when in the 90's, it was so obvious their stance changed and they seemed to be praising the United Nations and I had wondered back then, before the Internet, what was going on with that.

  Letter WRiting campaign

  on another board for ex-jws, i stated i'd like to start a mass letter writing campaign.

  at first i thought of writing to the united nations human rights council, about the shunning and increasingly bad insinuations and name calling against apostates, but mostly the shunning, and the fact that the org is increasing it's pressure on the r & f to continue and do more shunning if they had been letting that slide.. anyway, on that board, some suggested we write to the media instead, because that way it might get out to the public better, and then other organizations might see what's going on and perhaps take some kind of investigative action agains the org for what it does to anyone who wants to leave, which i believe violates our own freedom of religion, because we are not free to leave their religion without repercussions, and very heavey ones at that.. i also would like, as much as possible, to have our letters date-stamped october 31, just for the irony of that being halloween.

  and i'm looking for a name to call our campaign, i was just thinking, halloween hey day.
