  Alert: Witch hunt begins Watchtower 15 july 2011

  reading the posts about the 2011-7-15 watchtower about mentally retarded apostates i foresee the following scenario:.

  1. congregational elders trying to get grip on non regular publishers and inactive witnesses.. 2. the good ones read in the watchtower that apostates are to find in the local congregation.

  3. inactives like me (i hate this name, but i use their language), and liberal witness like me, will be hunted, .

  Why do I no longer get attacked and persecuted by the demons, since I left JW,s ?

  most jw.s really believe that they ( as we once did ) are promoting gods will, but what if they really are ?

  is it possible that god is supporting them even though they (governing body ) lie, because most jw,s are ignorant of the lies told on their behalf, ?.

  when i was a jw i got attacked by the demons bigtime, but not now, and i can only assume that they (demons ) are happy that i am no longer a jw and are now leaving me alone, cant think of any other reason, has god ever supported a group who were similarly found wanting ?.

  Well, look, obviously i'm not in any position to tell someone that something they went through definitely WAS or definitely WAS NOT real, but I think it is a point well worth considering. The mind is massively powerful and easily capable of creating virtually anything that can be imagined or not imagined.

  The experience above makes it sound like schizofrenia (spelling?). Try telling John Nash that his experiences weren't real. Well they are. To him. The empircal evidence of WHO demons attack, when and why does lead one to conclude that a religiously tormented mind going "out of control" with paranoia is not at all an unreasonable possibility.

  Maybe because it was all in your head and as truly terribly real as it felt, it was your mind actively creating those experiences as a reaction to constant paranoia of the demons and satan's trying to attack your vulnerabilities that WT uses as guilt and fear manipulations?

  Yes, you can teach morals without religion. However I understand that religion gives it a sort of reverential importance that might superscede what a parent could do. Some parents are probably better than imparting moral arguments and judgements to their children. So for some, having a disciplined, organized religious structure could very well be helpful.

  I don't really see this as all that crazy. How would people prefer this situation be handled? For them to assume that they did have sex and DF her anyway? Its pretty suspiciuos but there's a lot of reasons you can be alone with someone for an hour and not be having sex. So yes, if you're careful you can get away with an affair because there are no witnesses. Thats the lying, scumbag partner's fault... no one else's.

  As for the all night rule, I suppose its exact definition is a little arbitrary but honestly, if two people go home together, go to sleep, and wake up the next morning and leave, what are the chances they didn't have sex? I mean, what other reason for that occurring would there be? Its not like going behind closed doors for a while where you COULD be doing anything... kissing, looking at baby pictures, just talking, getting a massage. There's only one reason you're going home with someone all night.

  I don't think this is that crazy a letter really..

  Welcome and glad you're in a happy place. I think, reading your story, you could probably look at your experience positively. Being in the organization helped you in some ways (lonesomeness, anxiety, controlling your temper). When the friends you made there didn't turn out to be genuine you moved on. You got your education in the meanwhile so, who knows, maybe that small stint ended up being for the best in your personality development at a vulnerable and often difficult transition period in most people's life (being away from home with no controls, etc).

  on facebook tonight there was a post asking to take a personality test, in posting the personality tests a trend started emerging that certain personality types seem to leave around the same time.. i came out as an intj which is introverted intuitive thinking judging.

  So far of the 8 "common" personality types which account for about 80% of the populations, only 3 of 36 respondends ended up there.

  Of the 8 "rare" personality types which account for 20%, 33 or 36 people ended up there (or 92%).

  Its sounding that those that "wake up" are a very unique personality.

  IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE:

  N (Intuitive) is found in 20% of personalities in general. Among ex-JWs here: 94%

  I (Introvertive) is found in 50% of personalities in general. Among ex-JWs here: 78%

  J (Judging) is found in about 50% of personalities in genearl. Among ex-JWs here: 69%

  T (Thinking) is found in about 47% of personalities in genearl. Among ex-JWs here: 67%

  Ok this is pretty fascinating. I scanned through all the personality types, which have an approximate % of the population associated with them, and counted up the tally so far. Even with such a small sample size, the statistical significance of this data is already pretty profound:
