You know you are in the wrong religion or group when:
1- You are afraid to leave because of the consequences.
here is a list i've started...but hope will be added to.. .
you know you are in the wrong religion when:.
1. the all important question is not: "do you believe in the lord jesus christ?"....but....

until the official wts study article is out, all we can do is speculate away, kinda like a good mind bending game.
however, they are going to have a lot of explaining to do....... i was wondering what prompted this change, but after reading this on wiki.... (highlighted is mine) the entire article is damning, making them out to be liars.
i gather they recieved enough letters from the annointed regarding the wts claims perhaps.....?
Why would any JW put any stock in what Wikipedia says?
It doesn't matter what you find or say, this is not going to be big news. It doesn't really change anything and is really kind of just a confirmation of what people kind of suspected all along.
art!.
what the hell is it?.
i can't tell you what it is, but, i can tell you what i think it does.. art changes you.. it stops you cold in your tracks.. when you finally walk away from it you keep on thinking about it.. you can't shrug it off easily.. it's now a different world for you.. .
I'll define art as something deemed worth creating despite serving no practical purpose.
some questions arise with the new understanding:.
was there a slave class between the 1st century and the 20th century?.
in w march 1, 2004, it was stated, that the slave could not be a single man, because "acording to jesus words" the slave had started his work in 1st century and would still be in action in 20th century.. was the slave in action in 1914?
This is really giving me a headache. My wife nods and says "... I have no problem with that, it makes sense to me." THAT MEANS it didn't make sense for the first 100+ years!
Exactly. Ask her if she personally believed the Slave was wrong about its own identity yesterday...

The sequence of events in Fred Franz's End Times scenario - translated into mundane, "real-world" language - might have sounded plausible back when he scripted it in the 50s and 60s, but these days, it's pretty hard-pressed to defend.
Yeah but why would they drag that up? The last thing anyone in JW-land is thinking about is the bleeping trumpet blasts. If there's one thing they should do with that mess, it's to let sleeping dogs lie...

Here is the thing... If the fds is a future prophcy then the slave wasnt appointed in 1919 and the whole revelation book trumpet blasts crap has to be redone. If they are choosen in the future then they are taking authority NOW that they havent been given yet.... Its a cluster screw anyway they go with this
No, they're just taking away the FDS being appointed over the belongings in 1919, not that the congregations were inspected and chosen by Jesus as the channel for pure worship in the last days. The organization still went through the refinement period and all that, and the trumpet blasts can all remain as they were.
my current research is to find an efficient way for mental health providers to treat ex-jws.
please complete the survey below.. thanks in advance.

FYI: Didn't read the whole thing but the very first word is a typo...
wts shunning my venting #3. on my rough estimate there may be 50 wts victims of enforced shunning for every one wts child abuse victim.
(it is recognized that greater trauma is inflicted on abuse victims.
) with such a large pool of shunned dubs, a number must have suffered such bad experiences as to warrant conti-like cases against the wts.
I don't see it. As has been readily seen, there's enough information published that seems to say JWs DO NOT shun former members. Some things do say that, but it would be a nightmare of a case.
Also, at the end of the day, you can't force someone to like you. If someone doesn't want to talk to you, then they can't be forced to talk to you. If people want to only have contact with people that have the same beliefs as they do, they can't be forced to do otherwise.
do you shun former members of your religion?.
those who were baptized as jehovah's witnesses but no longer preach to others, perhaps even drifting away from association with fellow believers, are not shunned.
in fact, we reach out to them and try to rekindle their spiritual interest.. .
Regarding elderlites comments on if JWs shun former members: I agree with him that is not official policy the shun inactive ones. The problem you guys are having is that the the question on the FAQ does not match the answer. The question says do JWs shun FORMER members. They then answer whether JWs shun INACTIVE members. These are not the same groups.
any thoughts?.
This won't happen because if you marry and unbeliever and get DF'd, there's little chance of you coming back. Your family is just going to be a non-JW family. There's no guilt or pressure from within the family.
