Great stuff! I ordered my copy! Very true what he said about the media. I'm constantly disappointed at just how little information I get from watching the evening news. Looking forward to reading this latest book.

in presenting this musical drama, we recognize it is mere satire, and borrows heavily from queen, a worldly rock band of the distant past.
however, the beast-tower does not condone or recommend any particular music.
many spiritually famished apostates, showing a lack of appreciation for jehovah's animated provisions for children, have spoken against a toy used for educational purposes in a recent video.
Also, I realize that I could probably rewrite this song--it was kind of a rough draft. I was just getting introduced to Queen--shows my age--so I hadn't memorized the lyrics enough to work it out...

It's not Breast-Tower any longer?
We owe the change in title to ziddina, I believe it was, who suggested an adjustment to our current magazine title. This suggestion was carefully and prayerfully considered by the Writing Committee and thus, by the Lord's decree, The Breast-Tower, which helped adults cope with personal challenges, was updated to The Beast-Tower, thus broadening our subject matter. Did the Lord pronounce his blessing upon the change? One Beast-Tower reader wrote: "I have read your articles with interest, and I continue to do so. I look up the scriptures often and find that they deepen my understanding of the Bible as it applies in my daily life." Truly, the Lord has blessed this work!

today, many moviegoers will entertain themselves with a movie called 'the avengers'.
filled with violent content, spiritism, and demonic overtones, it is hardly any surprise that those who are affected by 'the spirit of the world' will be drawn to its themes.

Excellent. Every time I read this article, I get something new out of it! Can't wait for 'The Avengers' DVD on September 25th!

gods servants = only jws.
with the people of god rather.
dedicated servants of jehovah only jws.
"Granted, Jehovah's organization continues to plan for new Kingdom Halls, branch facilities, and other theocratic projects." You forgot to add: "But do we not recognize that we have no right to question what Jehovah's organization does? God has given us our place in the theocratic arrangement, and it is to remain humble and obedient, not to reason that those taking the lead are incapable of using God's resources in a way that He will approve of." Or better yet, "Just shut up. We can do whatever we want. We'll scrape the skin off your dead carcass if we can find a use for it--and if you include it for us in your last will and testament. That estate of yours is looking lovely, too. Why not keep Jehovah in mind by including us in your estate planning? That way, after you're dead, at least someone worthwhile can benefit from all your stuff, namely, us. The key is, maximize your recruiting, save a bunch of money on the side, and then die, leaving your property and investments to us. Achieve a balance between successful recruiting and contributions of a financial sort, and you'll have many, many treasures in heaven. Many. After you're dead. For real. Try it."

just a few wts that put to the effect anything from them should be taken as from jehovah himself and also with elders or being disfellowshipped, that it means jehovah himself is angry with them, that's it's punishment from him.

September 15th, 2010 Watchtower, p. 13 (study article starts on p.12, not sure of that page number, but it's in par. 8):
"Similarly today, a Governing Body composed of spirit-anointed Christians contributes to the unity of the worldwide congregation. The Governing Body publishes spiritually encouraging literature in many languages. This spiritual food is based on God’s Word. Thus, what is taught is not from men but from Jehovah.—Isa. 54:13."

what happened?
was it too close to a watchtower society impersonation?
did i say something too offensive?
Well, now this is reaching that awkward point of trying to describe a now non-existent thread. It was supposed to be a satire taking a little sprinkle of references to 'The Dark Knight Rises' and making it into a "The Daystar Rises" discussion.
The first paragraph mentions the soon-to-be blockbuster, record-and-Batman-smashing film and refers to Batman as a "violent vigilante". It also highlighted how Batman's perching on tall buildings was similar to the gargoyles atop some of Christendom's cathedrals--hence, inventing a reason to knock Christendom.
Then we started talkin' about the Daystar rising in 1914, and how when this wicked system is ashes, Jehovah would go all Bane-like on this wicked system of things and say "You have my permission to die."
Then we said the anointed would 'rise' to heaven, and the great crowd would 'rise' to perfection in a thousand years if they obeyed the Daystar and the anointed.
Then we wrapped it up. And justmom, I believe, thought it was for real, and I actually feel sorry that she typed so much if she was serious...sorry about that.
But it was fun. You'd have to be there....

baltar, I thought that was a public post. I had just finished writing a response, and then my computer just went to the login screen and I couldn't find the thread anymore. Hmm. I don't think I have any copies of it, either...dang it. A lost issue...
I wonder if being on the Watchtower Online Library at the same time has anything to do with it. Nah. Couldn't be. Could it?

"Others commit a serious sin during courtship and marry anyway, but they may begin their married life with little respect for each other."
So who tells them that they should have 'little respect for each other' just because they had sex? Well, the Watchtower does it right in this article. It manages to project its own feelings about sex onto the newly married couple, by writing about how they feel, when it's really just how the Watchtower feels.
I'm like the poster boy for JW-related early marriage troubles, but you can bet your a** that the last thing on my mind was, "Oh, gee, we had mind-blowing sex for awhile before we got married; I just can't respect her anymore after that!" These guys are living in a dream world. Seriously.
This is a classic example of emotional control. The Society projects feelings onto its followers, and then swoops in to 'fix' the problems that they created in the first place by guilting the hell out of them. Gotta love 'em.
