in this time of the end, the world continues to degenerate further and further into wickedness.

much has been said about this oft-cited scripture: "the light gets brighter.
" this is, of course, used as justification for the apparently arbitrary changes in doctrine handed down by the governing body.
examining this scripture in its context may help us understand its meaning.. proverbs 4:14-19: "into the path of the wicked ones do not enter, and do not walk straight on into the way of the bad ones.
Back to the top--not exactly a great revelation, but a favorite discovery of mine, as I was reading verses in their context. This one really was a big step for my understanding of things from the Biblical perspective.

"how do jehovah's witnesses view disfellowshipped ones?.
previously, this journal has detailed, from the bible's viewpoint, how unrepentant sinners should be viewed*[*footnote see also "how to treated disfellowshipped ones" in the appendix of the book "keep yourselves in god's love", published by jehovah's witnesses].
unlike apostate christendom, which unrepentantly excuses the gross sins of its members, true christians follow the scriptural admontion found in 1 corinthians 5:11: "remove the wicked man from among yourselves.
Back to the top--wow, I'd forgotten about this one, another pre-Beast-Tower article. Kinda disturbing parody. Guess this was the start of my sadistic satire...gaaa! I'll try not to bring it back to the top in 2019, though...it could get somebody killed, for real...

the beduhn book, truth in translation, finally arrived today at the office.
here's a comparison with what the faithful slave says and not even the half of what beduhn says:.
bearing thorough witness about god's kingdom, box on page 105:.
Back to the top--one of the few bits of research I did on my own without being prompted by any website or anything. It was nice to order BeDuhn's book and see what he wrote in full context.
Whether you regard that as a good or a bad thing, you can probably understand that it resulted in the Jehovah's Witnesses approaching the Bible with a kind of innocence, and building their system of belief and practice from the raw material of the Bible without predetermining what was to be found there."
Note that the Society omits the first part in quoting BeDuhn, since it casts doubt on the quote as complimenting JWs. Didn't notice that until just now.
I made two threads on this book, though. Wonder if the second one is worth bouncing up to the top again...

now, i'm not a prophet, but i would consider this article to be a uh, spirit-directed excerpt from what could happen--but we are not saying.
questions from readers.
is it necessary to offer thanks in prayer before eating snacks?.
Back to the top--one of my earliest attempts at WT parodies, back before we started The Breast-Tower--Helping Adults With Sexual Concerns, which later became The Beast-Tower. Still surprisingly funny, back when I was trying harder for the humorous side rather than the sadistic elder side, which is where I usually go with it now.
Very funny but totally useless... you forgot the world ends in Dec 2012!
Well, looks you were wrong, pal! Funny to see that comment now! Ha ha!

i urge members to scour the archives of jwn and bump quaility info to the top.
Would it be self-aggrandizing to bump the 'best of sd-7', if you will, to the top? Yes, it would be. So long as I avoid the personal threads, that could actually be a good idea. Some pretty interesting research I've done, even if a lot of it is probably just to repeat the research others have done before me.

simultaneously breathing life into the two biggest sci-fi franchises?.
http://news.sky.com/story/1043186/star-wars-episode-vii-new-director-revealed.
as he boldly goes where no director has gone before, may the force be with him!.
Well, this is really great news. Abrams has a great energy he brings to his films. I think of Super 8 and Star Trek and I felt like some of the best things about those films were his real grasp of character, of how to create great imagery. Of course, script and casting are also key, and it seems like he has a good grasp of casting (Chris Pine owned 'Trek' as Kirk, in my opinion). And just, looking at Star Trek--there was a great sense of energy with the film, the camera work, the way everybody moved. Comparing it to the Star Wars Prequels, the camera shots are very static and not really dynamic. Because Lucas didn't get up and get involved directly with the actors or the camera work, you can see it in the documentaries. The redlettermedia.com Plinkett reviews really opened my eyes on all the problems there, problems I think Abrams and Arndt (who's working on script, and even Lawrence Kasdan is consulting!) will have no trouble resolving.
I think I was a huge defender of the Prequels and I get tired of hearing the constant criticisms, at least if they're not constructive, meaningful ones. There are still things to like about them, but they're devoid of the spirit, fun, and energy of the originals. There's a sense that they're stale and there's something missing in how they're made, they're too clean-looking, no...sense that this is a world people are living in, none of the grit and grime and heat-of-danger and grim harsh consequences of war kind of stuff that the originals brought. Plus there was no humor! Or really bad, really dry, or really stupid humor.
Anyway, this is perfect. Episode VII is really looking like it will bring Star Wars back to what it was meant to be.

so, a good friend of mine, a pentecostal christian, invited me to go to a retreat with her church.
we're the same age-19 years.
we were friends before i became a witness and she was always patient and caring with me especially throughout my arrogant spell as a witness.
Depends on what your gameplan is. If your goal is to get out of the JWs and you're not trying to be a double agent, then it could--could--be worth a try. Of course, I wouldn't trust anyone inviting me to a church retreat, but I'm paranoid of all religion these days, so don't mind me.
If you're trying to be a double agent, you have to refuse, because the risks involved with that scenario are too great, and it would probably require you to directly tell a lie if you're going to talk to your mom about it. And the best way to succeed with double agenting is to have as many scenarios that are true as possible.

i love it!
out of nowhere, the mrs. tells me that since she has a part tonight and there's nobody to watch the kids, she wants me to come with her to the meeting to watch them while she's on the platform.
i'm actually still supposed to be there, but i went home (5 minutes down the road) for a 'bathroom break'.
Okay, we're overanalyzing here. Geez, guys. Is it that hard? My wife had a 5 minute talk, after which she returned to her seat. I then gave her the kids. That was it. They're not old enough to be left on their own. She had the kids and had already taken them into the other congregation at the time, and if/when she needed to take one of them to the bathroom she left the other with a sister she apparently trusted, which is what she probably does every other meeting when I'm not there. At the point where she had the kids with her, I left, that was all.
I think a reasonable parent would make sure their kids were okay before deciding to just disappear. If there's an unspoken accusation to be made here, then by all means, speak it. Otherwise, the question has been answered, issue resolved, and it's a moot point 4 days later anyway.
