The last time I was in your area, two other former JWs and I were on the metro. This lady got on, held the pole with one hand, and held the daily
text
with the other. She proceeded to stand there and stare at same text for 10 to 15 minutes. That was bizarre.
Hilarious, Londo. Not sure what about a text would warrant that, especially since you could probably read the whole thing in probably less than 3 minutes...
SD- I have a different phone number, I will PM it to you. There is a meet up right where you work @ the end of Feb, why not try to make it. I will try but it will depend alot on how the rehab goes with my hip. I had it replaced Dec 26. Check for a PM.

Nature abhors a vacuum. When you left the religion you created a void. I like the suggestion about volunteering your time. Pick a good and humane cause to get involved in.
Probably a good idea. I've been thinking about this issue and it's not going to be easy. Ah, finally! I had this movie quote in my head, "Come on! Show a little backbone!" And I couldn't remember where it was from, and now I just realized it was from Indiana Jones, you know the 'Raiders' scene at the beginning, snake on the plane, "I hate snakes, Jacques! I hate 'em!" Okay...tangent...but the quote was probably my subconscious' message to me.
Problem is, anywhere I go on my own could generate suspicion/tension at home. Hence the need for backbone. I guess she's greatly concerned about me cheating. But let's not go down that road again...
I feel marginally better today, but I've been thinking on this issue; now that you mention it, maybe there's that river cleanup program I did years ago...could see if they're still around. Well, thanks. You saved me from ordering a root beer at the local bar and getting waylaid by [fill in the blank, can't think of anything].

I was heading home today, and I saw one woman reading a New World Translation. We made eye contact, but I hope I didn't glare at her or anything... Since I was already having a bout with depression today, it didn't help to see her. So then she gets off the train, right?
And the funny thing? Another woman gets on the train, sits in the exact same seat as the previous woman, and opens the Jeremiah book and starts reading! Ha ha ha...I'm thinking, is this some kind of joke, is somebody messing with me here, or is this some kind of sign from above? Ugh...
As the months are passing, we're nearing the 3-year-anniversary of my liberation from the Watchtower (next month). Hard to believe. My wife was going through old photos a couple of days ago, and I nearly cried, realizing how far we've come, how much time has passed. The pain never seems to go away, it's like it's fresh forever.
My wife just had her circuit assembly, so it seems like she's been reprogrammed. I can always tell because the furniture gets rearranged and things look uncommonly neat all of a sudden at home. That, and Kingdom Melodies blasting out of my old iPod. And her loud phone conversations with my mom or her mom about the latest WT article.
I'm a little depressed, but I suppose I'll make it. I don't seem to have much of a life beyond immediate family, books and movies, and this site. I wonder if having so little else as far as social interaction is wearing on me.
Well, let me not derail this thread. This is why I do the satire. Because I have to laugh...if I don't, I won't make it, really. And writing about it gets the insanity of it out of my system, to an extent. Anyway, hope you guys are doing well. Thanks for enjoying my posts and all. Take care.

Ah, and the plot sickens...back to the top with ye! And none too soon, for next week, in harmony with this counsel, my wife and I will have been free of the uncleanness of marital intercourse for a whole year! This has helped us greatly to focus more on spiritual matters, leading to rich rewards. How thankful we have been for this timely counsel!

Uh oh...did someone say my name? Ah...that's a tall order. I might actually try it, if I wasn't afraid of that exact outcome... Hmm. Not a bad choice for Issue #9 of The Beast-Tower, though for a subject like that, I'd have to change the title of the magazine back to its original name, The Breast-Tower: Helping Adults With Sexual Concerns. Maybe I should try it out, see what happens...I'm in a sick kind of mood today.

But seriously, the thing is, for 22 years, all there was to this series was 3 movies and maybe a couple of cartoons. Now there's only 6 movies, and a cartoon show. Compare that to Star Trek, for instance, which has had 11 movies and 5 TV shows, and that's actually not that much, spread out over 36 years. Neither of those includes the best-selling novels that both series have done. The fact that Star Wars novels consistently still make the best-sellers' list, and the Star Wars cartoon has had good ratings, there's clearly still an interest that probably won't die off unless the movies really suck, and I mean suck really, really badly. The fans are still going to be fans, and lots of 'em. Bringing it back will most certainly be welcome to this little doormat.
