im looking for some advice.. so i grew up as a witness was baptized when i was seventeen, which by the way i was pushed into baptizm cuse my parents kept asking me when i was and threatned to not buy me a car if i didnt get baptized.
since it was never in my heart i was never very dedicated and was disfellowshipped by nineteen i started the process of coming back but after bout four months i moved out.
i started partying alot mainly with my other disfellowshipped friends and nonactive jw frien, we were drinking alot and smoking weed but soon i started feeling the need to go back so i started up at the meetings but i got bored and went back to my old ways, this has been what i have been doing for the last five years, partying getting drunk and drugs and then stopping and going back to the meetings for a couple months, the same process for last the last almost five years.
Hi there and Welcome!! I so so so can relate to you! Back when I was 21 that was totally me, I'm now 25 got my life in order and lets just say it wasn't what I expected. I understand the battle with the family and not wanting to be a JW but yet wanting a normal life with family in the picture. I still sometimes have withdrawals but nothing compared to what it was before coming on here.

i'll give some background information before i introduce myself.
i faded from the organization three and a half years ago.
i have no family members who are jws and haven't thought about this religion at all over the past three and half years.
Welcome!! I went back a couple months ago... (I'm 25 as well but married to non JW and I'm DFed) I found out I was pregnant and that about the time I quit.
They have a new song book, and only two meetings (which is nice in my opinion but then it's kinda hard not to miss even one!)
The meetings with the study book is merged with the Ministeral School and KM descussion. Eh it seems so fast, defaintly feel left out if you don't study our lesson.
Any who You might be suprised to come here... it is filled with tons of information, opinions, facts, etc.
But I understand to a degree people have their reasons to make the best in their life weither it be as a JW or not... Best wishes to you. Hope you will find help and encouragement to do the right thing for you!

this is sorta directed to you as asking rather then telling... i am studying the bible and go to many teachers/sources of the bible... (my sins are being paid for and thus my credit as a christian in no way is held high enough to make claims of im right or your wrong in the eyes of a jw, but im still being humble and live now according to gods standards with my study in the bible and christian believes, so be open minded to the facts of my credit to your idea of standards) my views are expressed below thru use of the bible regarding the comment you made on this thread.... .

here we go: my parents learned the truth when i was 4 and i don't have childhood memories of how life was before they converted.
i was a model jw child, although quite mischievous at school.

Just one example why they don't have Cathlic views... They believe in Jesus it's just they "inadvertantly" hold their veiw point to highly like it's just through Jesus himself when actually they are being lead by the "Governing Body" to choice the way they should live through their interpetations of what Jesus says throught the scriptures. But not to be rude isn't that what Cathlic's do to listen and be guided though the Pope?

another scripture John 18:36 Jesus when on trial for his life told Roman governor of Judea:
"My kingdom is no part of this world. If my kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have gought that I should not be delivered up to the Jews. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from this source."
So therefore they believe it's not a kingdom ruling on earth but from heaven.

God's government in heaven.
They refer to Matthew 24:14 alot when talking about God's Kingdom...
"And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for the purpose of a witness to all the nations, and then the accomplished end will come"
It's something they look forward too. A reward God will give them for faithfully serving God... He will finially step in on earthly governments and take rule with His government (God's Kingdom). The good news is all the wonderful things brought out in the Bible that God's Kindom accomplishes and provides for us now and in the future.
That's the quick explination.

i've recently begun drinking a little wine each night before i go to sleep.. the wine is a blueberry variety that i bought from a neighboring vineyard.. it has helped my stomach problems a lot.. syl.
lol back before I got pregnant I remember being able to finish a whole bottle with my husband. I should have know I was pregnant when I felt quisy with just one glass (I found out I was pregnant 15weeks along, freeking out thinking I got my baby drunk! doctor says baby is fine just don't over do it anymore). I now being 34 weeks along don't drink at all but I did drink a little little bet during christmas and new years... love the taste of wine. :)
Every time I visit the wine feastable that comes every year I get their desert wine... Pink Lady is my favorite!!
