How many ex-JW's are musicians on here?
by NoRegrets injust wondering how many of us on here are musicians, what we play, and if we had witness bands and/or performed.
i have had quite a few funny moments of being in bands that wanted to be cool, but always had to nerf the edginess of any songs we played and watch the noise!
i played with different elders who loved to rock out, but when they played at a congregation party didn't even want to use overdrive of any kind!

Catching the Manipulation in Sundays Watchtower Article
by Butterflyleia85 ininspired by many on jwn board, my goal is to every sunday study the article and find the manipulative parts.
if you would like to join me that would be great!
we can then find them together and then find what the scriptures or insights truly means with research, our own understanding, or maybe how it should be interpreted to ones self.

Thanks bluesbrothers! Hope Blondie is ok as well!!
And yes Blondie probably could carry on threads like this way way better then I can... Not thinking if it would affend or out speak someone else! :S
I just hope I can encourage as well as learn and be encouraged from others that's all.

Shunning is so stupid
by AwSnap ini cannot seem to shake the visual image i have from about 5 days ago.
i went over to my mom's house, and apparently she didn't mention it to my younger sister (who lives in their downstairs apartment).
she and her baby were visiting with my mom, and when she saw me walking up the side walk, she grabbed her toddler up in her arms and i saw her hauling ass down the stairs....the toddler didn't understand why she was just snatched up and hauled away and started screaming.

I totally agree! My sister is a pioneer now but a little over a year ago she was just baptised and was shunning me full force... she still does shunning but in not as a rude way. I wrote her during that time too about what I was finding out with resources from the watchtower and bible and she said she deleted all of it and didn't even want to read it! It seem to apostate to her. She said she had a funny feeling and it felt wrong to read.
Not my mother nor my grandma shuns me the ways she does. But my father side is worse then that they don't even check to see how my 8 mth old son and I are doing.
So I totally understand where you are coming from.

Jehovah's Witnesses- The Organisation Behind The Name
by african GB Member inlets admitt it guys, this org is the closest that anyone will ever get to the truth, i am not saying they are perfect, but maybe they just need a few modifications to some of their doctrines.. after all they are not that bad.. they don't execute people.
they promote unity and peace among people.
they encourage people to live good purposeful lives.

I think that was a bet helpful in a sense... I am always thinking of ways to answer those types of comments and well it kinda was like a pop quiz on the board! hahaha

I been offered the watchtower and awake by my family and I feel the need to keep up on their thinking so I can get them out of the snare of Governing Body!! It's been bothering me and that is what truely motivated this Post.

Awesome! I missed her thread... Does she do it every week? I would like to attach her link then so as to not get off her thread. I just didn't know if she did it every week.. I will add to her thread instead then if that's the case.
