why do you feel a compulsive need to quote scriptures in all your posts?

Crisis of Conscience page 23
by Butterflyleia85 in"the society's vice president, fred franz, was acknowledged as the organization's principal bible scholar.
on a number of occasions i went to his office to inquire about points.
to my surprise he frequently directed me to bible commentaries, saying, "why don't you see what adam clarke says, or what cooke says," or, if the subject primarily related to the hebrew scriptures, "what the socino commentaries say.".

It is built on a foundation of one charismatic leader who was influenced by Adventist end-times charts, timetables, predictions and crackpot Pyramidology "proofs".
See and I remember these books brought into the hall and me and my best friend opened one of the books and she said look see what JWs use to believe. It had a Pyramid with weird symbols all over them. I never gave it a second thought... I just laughed and said that's crazy so happy we didn't live back then because we have brighter light now. It just incouraged me that we are closer to the end.
I just was unaware of all the behind the scenes and connected the dots... I basicly left it up to the "Faith and Discreet Slave" (aka imperfect humans) to do all my research for me and connecting the dots for me, looking into ONLY the Watchtower Library for information & staying away from other sources to "protect" my way of thinking. But is this smart (blind leading the blind and especially on that gives history of false promises)? Yes I believe their intentions are good but sadly there are signs of man leading man to his injury.
I think about what a good friend told me that he also mentions in his book "Truth or Consquences":
"I used to feel much like Dorothy, as she searched for the Wizard of Oz . I thought that the Wizard held all the answers for me to find my way home. I thought that a handful of men, called the Governing Body, was that Wizard who would help me reach my destiny. The flashing lights that came from behind the curtain mesmerized me. I was fearful of speaking back to the authoritative voice that seemed to come from God. How disappointed Dorothy must have felt when the curtain was pulled back to expose a little old man with his hands on a control panel. This may well express my disappointment when I realized that the Governing Body was no better than the Wizard of Oz. "
"To the best of my knowledge, every Watch Tower Society publication could be found in the Writing Department's library. In addition, there were hundreds of books not published by the Society. There were Bible commentaries galore, and shelves upon shelves of old and new books on religion, Bible history, and archeology. There were also books about current events."
Barbara Anderson thank you for your comment!

Romans 14:2; Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don't argue with them about what they think is right or wrong.
For instance, one person believes it's all right to eat anything. But another believer with a sensitive conscience will eat only vegetables.
Romans 14:3; The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him.
Romans 14:4; Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand
Romans 14:5; One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.
So even though the Jehovah's Witnesses have leaders of imperfect men the individual will be blessed and we shouldn't try to convence them other wise but let them find out for themselves just as we have found out for ourselves. God will protect his people.
I feel so bad I didn't catch these scriptures before. Here I was preaching to my family like they do me and yet I see here what the more humble approach would be to be patient. And keep myself in check... I hold very important information yes but God will reviel things in his own time. In our part we should just be there to grab their hand when they need help.

God still has a holy spirit among us that truely search for him!
What we feel and what we know are different among us here. We also have terms and labels that can slightly alter our way of thinking. Is it truely safe were we are and who we socielize with?
Among us come all different forms of opinions, age, and backgrounds.
Keep in mind the goal here is not to hurt one another but help. I as well as all can put our foot in our mouths when we come across new information, but instead of denial we should be humbled. I feel I have learned alot among the wise and the cautious. But what I realized is that I still don't hold the answers and still believe none of us will.
We can fix, solve, and reajust but what holds important is our motivation, our spirit, and our integrity. I as well as all have a problem to judge, we all have a problems we face in life that humble each and everyone of us. I hold the Bible's information highly in my life a source (I believe) God gave us.
(James 4:11; Proverbs 3:29; Ps. 19:7)
How will we learn without a teacher, how will be lead without a leader, and how will we unite without allowing people in! Fear God not man... but God I beleive has used us his people to hold these rolls so we can grow. If we follow the Bible we will see the blessings.
Edward Dunlap in his tape I listened to pointed out something very important from the Bible that Paul mentioned man's conscience can't govern man's conscience so therefore we can learn by experiences but take each lessons (information, sources) with a grain of salt.
Ray Franz has information that gives great use to all of us and his humbling attitude I believe will be blessed.
The caution though is our own, we can menifest doubt which in turn can create doubt in God... I can't forget that having faith in God is what is important! Man can twist words and make you feel you have the wrong, but so can your own mind if you allow it.
Negativity allows evil thinking. Keep strong and keep praying... keep the positive energy! We need this for each and everyone of us in our journey through life.
Love,
butterfly

Were You Afraid To Talk Out Loud For Fear The Demons Might Hear You?
by minimus ini know of many witnesses that were petrified that if they spoke about something out loud, the demons.

Everyone I believe was told that one just call out God's Name and the demons would flee.
But I seriously remember saying Jehovah Jehovah Jehovah in one of my nightmares and the scary creatures just laughed at me and said your God won't save you. I was 5 and always had troubled nightmares to the point my mother sent me to counseling.
The nightmares eventually got better but I always wondered if saying God's name real would be powerful enough.
