DGP, I have read almost every thread, and every post I've ever read from you, either in reply or a new topic, you've never offended this born in once df'd reactivated female fast fader turned apostate. I find the questions you ask refreshing because it's in an effort to learn, and it asks the questions differently than someone who WAS or IS one. Keep it up! (I even find it intriguing the threads you post MARKED, wondering how that can fit into your plan or knowledge base)

A problem for a worldly when asking questions about the Watchtower.
by dgp injust for the sake of not being rude or impolite or whatever, i want to state a problem a worldly person has when asking questions or reaching conclusions about the watchtower: perhaps i unknowingly insult or annoy or in a way upset someone who has found himself of herself in that situation.
i just want to know more; i hope i won't offend anyone.. thanks..

Longtime Lurkers?

anyway i posted a comment on a hobby forum that i belong to and this was part of someones reply..... "btw, how is it possible to have been on this forum for 6 years, and only have 8 posts?".

been married to a baptized mate for over 15 years.
my wife was never technically all in, more of a fader, rarely went to meetings, the occasional memorial, a convention once or twice.

Jehovah's Witnesses---A Religion That Frowns On Everything!

you can't hold hands with your spouse during prayers.. you can't wear a logo themed tee shirt when doing menial outdoor work at a "quick build" kingdom hall.. you have to wear a suit and tie or a dress when visiting a watchtower factory.. you can't enjoy an older recording of a favorite talk and pass it around because "the faithful slave" disapproves of that.. you can't further your education with college.. you shouldn't want to get married or have children as the end is soooo close.. they suck the life and enjoyment of people.....and i've only mentioned a fraction of things jws frown on.. .

They have to constantly tell them what to do, or what not to do because they've created (or breeded) a bunch of non-thinkers! If they allowed or encouraged education, good values, and expressed true love and acceptance and redemption....they could focus on more positive things! Then of course they wouldn't be the religion they are, the cult they are, or in existance at all I suppose.
Its the same with raising children, if you constantly harp at them, and direct and redirect their every step along the way you will end up with either non thinkers that can't make a move without being reaffirmed, or you create a rebel that not only goes the other direction from what you say, but does it with detriment to themselves because they lack the capability of good decision making!
It's insane that it can't be seen this way, and I do realize that I've fallen into a few of the catagories myself. When you know better, you do better.
