  Did you ever feel let down by the Bethel tour?

  reading jeff's thread about dress made me think of my one and only trip to bethel.. i can't remember if i was babtised at the time, but i went with a bus load of jws.. like someone said in the last thread, printing presses and empty rooms.

  i was very disapointed, however i don't think i had any pre-concieved notions of what it would be like.

  what i was diapointed in was so much of the "tour" was walking hallways looking at exhibits behind glass.

  Is that were I was? In the writing departments libraries? Right outside Lee Waters office. In fact, it was a horse shoe shaped room. offices all around the room, and the center, in shelving that was angled...like this... / / / / through the room. I WAS THERE!! I WAS THERE!!!

  I'll never forget that going off about how dare THEY, "just men" be allowed to own these, much less read them, and not have them flying around the room from deeemunz? I felt like it was a double standard...bad is bad, right?

  maninthemiddle...I toured Bethel during the blackout of what was that...2003? Where the whole grid NY, Jersey and parts of Canada lost power. We toured with a bunch of dweebs, but my brother in law had served there for a decade, and was recently asked to leave. Funny, he went on the tour with us. Couldn't have been more uncomfortable than a cat over a toilet. I found it forced, sterile, and boring. We did get to have lunch with the group in the big ole room...my son sat on some governing body members lap (I didn't take him over there, so no idea which one) and his diaper leaked on his lap. I thought that was hysterical.

  We knew the one of the writers, Lee Waters, family friend...so he let us chill in his office for a while, and walk around and look at all the library books outside the offices. We were told a few times that no one usually gets to come in there, so I suppose it was a privledge. I recall looking at all these books, so many from Christendom and a LOT on the occult and demonism. I was told this wasn't the only library, this was just a smaller reference one. I don't know why I was shocked to learn they owned and read these books, I guess I thought they just googled their quotes

  Then we went down to another person we knew, who was/is in the department that does all the intake of the willed properties and monies. She also is in the department that does the commercials that play in certain areas of the US, and let us watch one that was to be released "soon" Probably right before Armaggedon.

  Then we went upstate to stay with another friend yet, and while up there were supposed to go and have our kids sit for a photo shoot for future depictions in the Awake and other publications. The power went out the day before we made it there, so no tour, no photos, and we did all we could to haul ass outta town because it was hot miserable and we were DONE. Took 4 hours to get through the tunnel. Absolute madness.

  That was my visit in a nutshell, to the nuthouse.

  Out of fear of dying at Armageddon, Heartbreaker will most certainly buy the cheese. Can you see how her faith and obeidiance is pleasing to her Creator? We would do well to follow her wise example.

  Mary, I'm making your salad tomorrow night for my man...he's been out of town all week eating fast food and diner crap. I think I'll pair it with a marinated pork tenderloin and my those mashed potates that were mentioned before (sorry I can go back and look, I'd have to retype this all again...ugh! )

  My question is, can I leave out the second cheese and just increase the amount of blue cheese? I'm not sure I'd like two cheeses in one salad. Do you think it'll affect the quality? Any other additions that would make it over the top in your opinion?

  Coriander the green herb? That is Cilantro here...and I've found that it can't have the sun it says it can, it grows too quickly and goes to seed (which the actual hard seed is what we call coriander)

  Keep it shaded, possibly it's own container in the window sill, and spritz with water every day, sometimes twice a day and you'll have a beautiful bunch growing :)

  My husband loves everything I cook, I just can't make a cup of coffee to save ANYONE'S life. Sad really.

  Here is his favorite salad

  Baby spring greens

  Chopped and drained roasted red peppers

  Soft mild goat cheese crumbled

  Toasted pine nuts

  Olive oil vinegrette dressing

  I toss greens cheese and peppers, sprinkle with nuts and drizzle with dressing.

  Add grilled salmon over top for an entree salad

  Otherwise serve with a nice steak and potatoes

  The way I do my potoes is this way....boil new potatoes or fingerling potatoes until it's JUST about soft

  Place on a cookie sheet, smash with a glass, a potato masher just two pressed down, or a fork...just to break up the potato.

  Generously sea salt and cracked pepper (sometimes I also add rosemary or dill or another spice) and a small drizzle of olive oil and a small pat of butter.

  Place in the oven under the broiler until crispy like oven fries. That's it!

  What will happen if you are I.D'd ?

  many on here are keen to hide their identity, me included, i don't want to be df'd and many of the views i express on here would be enough for most jc's to df me sine die.. anyone reading on here who knows me a little more than vaguely could work out who i am, my list of cars i have owned for example, on another thread.. but what could they do ?.

  i know they could make a case, and then as happened to a young sister in a neighbouring congo.

  say they would investigate why the bro.

  What would happen to me? I would be disfellowshipped. They would have to do it in my absence, because I wouldn't meet with them. They hold no power or control or authority over me.

  I've already lost all of my family, they on both sides view me as an apostate, and rightly so. I am what they say. I left their religion, and if the cause is just, I'll speak out against the organization and do a reverse witness if you will. I doubt the existance of a god that really has a care or plan for people now. I think it's more of a curious observation at best....like observing the ant hill. Watching but not helping, seeing some struggle and it not pullling your heart strings. That alone could get me Df'd.

  If my family or someone who knew them found my posts and pieced together what I've said, it would air all of our dirty laundry about sexual abuse etc, and would embarrass them. I still fight with that, making this information known doesn't make me feel badly about myself, or shamed, but I would still feel badly for affecting their day to day lives in making this info a source of conversation or gossip in their circle. I know I shouldn't want to protect them, it is their fault....but it's the decent person in me I suppose. So if I were caught, or found out here, I would just care if what I've said about my past and my family could be traced back to them.

  I'm about ready to post a pic of me, especially after the 20# thread fiasco, to show I'm not a sloth lol....and just to share. Almost, not quite.

  Would it affect me if I was DF'd? Nope, not in the least. No one talks to me from the family, surrounding congregations, and there are no friendships there I'm trying to protect. The only reason I haven't DA'd or made it easy for the to DF me is that it's THEIR games and rules, not mine. I chose not to play.
