  True Faith Jehovah's Witnesses

  some of you may be aware of the jw offshoot in the 1940s after the judge died, they call themselves true faith jehovah's witnesses and are essentially jw's in every way, shape and form, wiwth some minor differences.

  I also live in Romania, and see these ones in the "true faith" from time to time. They are an even weirder bunch. Imagine a typical deeply indoctrinated JW sprinkled with weird views and clinging more dearly to their beliefs than a leech. Add to that some medieval views (more so than one of a normal JW) and you approximated them. Some of them used to march in front of the JW convention trying to distribute their literature - which reminds me, they don't accept colored pictures in literatures, because the Bible has no pictures either. One can easily recognize them by the women always having their heads covered (or maybe only when in field service?) and their typical green-black tracts they want to distribute, which I'm told is a reprint of a 60's or 70's tract the WT printed.

  I've seen the videos about Ray's visit Caminante mentioned, and that CAMI leader was unbelivable, if I ever had doubts about that offshot, he definately made the point clear to me. He kept it steady, that when the new light about "supreme authorities" came, the witnesses in US had a schizm too, and there was some sort of mini-revolution, with Kingdom Halls burned, and all. Ray kept telling him calmly, that he was a witness then and there was no such thing, but that guy all but called him a liar.

  where is the proof that the holy spirit is an impersonal active force?

  what exaclty does the jw mean by force regarding the hs?.

  how that force came to exist in the first place?.

  if jah used that force to create the universe...would that force ever vanish?

  As I understand that force is just that: a force. It always existed, just as God existed. It will exist as long as God exists. As such it's inseparable from God, and it makes no sense asking if Jah would need that force to exist. Think of it as God's muscles if you will I'll leave the "proof" part to others...

  Indeed, as Aussie said. The Bible condemns lie, so some of them work around it so skillfully that they tell the truth, yet you come to the conclusion they wanted you to, which is a lie. I heard this tactic used, and when I confronted him, he said that "it is not his concern to know it". Also see: teocratic warfare. They can apply it to anything. I told him, that if it's not his concern, tell him exactly that, don't lie. He told me he didn't said anything that was not truth. My reply: yes, but you knew perfectly well that the conclusion he will draw from your words was not true, and that deception is worse than lying, because straight out lies can easily be found out, these twisted words have the ring of truth to it.

  In your experience how many DFd return to the WTS?

  from the 11/15/09 wt study article: "it is heartwarming to know that a large number of such ones [disfellowshipped ones] later return to jehovah and his congregation...".

  this is a typical cult phrase, where they use a generic unverifiable statement to prove a point.

  so, since we're not likely to get an official answer from the wt, how many of the dfd ones in your vicinity has actually been reinstated?.

  I find 50% returns a pretty high number, one that could be considered as a base for the statement in the WT. As I said in my experience it was much lower than that. Dissed's 25% seemed believeable, but 98%? What were they thinking? :o (I'm not questioning you Yknot, I just find it weird). Such high number tells me of a possible error from the elders at their disfellowshipping. One who wants so much to stay in could not be unrepentant.

  a "Blood" experience...

  i was speaking with a lady today & found out she's been a nurse in the blood transfusion unit at our hospital for the past 15 years.

  i said, "i have an off-the-wall question for you...i was having a discussion with somebody about jehovah's witnesses.

  i know they're not allowed to get blood transfusions but they can get fractions, right?

  Is taking in tissue via transplant the same thing as taking in tissue via eating? Of course not. Only an absolute moron would seriously believe that instructions involving diet would pertain to surgery.

  I think this is why organ transplants were coined as "cannibalistic" - they were trying to be consistent. If one can't eat the meat of a human being then by the same argument they use for blood he can't accept organ transplant either.

  Indeed dissed, being lonely after getting DFd is a big part why most of that 25% return. It is a cult tactic: isolate members (in the WT case it's done by "no worldly association), so they don't have anyone to rely on, and institute a shunning policy; then when they're cast out they need to return, because they indeed feel an emptiness - but not of Jehovah, but of social interactions. It's that simple. And indeed forums, and in general online activity does alleviate some of the exit problems.

  A bit offtopic, as I have edited that spreadsheet it struck me what I've never seen before put so plainly: the baptized number is steadily declining. Using MS Excel as projection from the baptized column, it predicts by 2021 the new recruits will be reduced to 0

  I believe a few years ago it was 25% come back

  This prompted me to make a spreadsheet using that figure. The "left" number is calculated using the formula: (avg.prev.year+baptized)*0.99-avg.this.year+reinstated. The 0.99 is there to account for deaths. Here it is, '96-'06 statistics:

  I wouldn't be surprised if there is noone living who was present at that convention. And it's not millions, it's billions who have died since.
