hello,im not sure this is the right place to post,anyway ive never been a jw but i have a very good friend that is,lately her mother has been telling me to go to the meetings and i went only once because after that ive been to research alot about them and i didnt like what i saw at all.. anyway the thing is that i asked my friend is the following.
"can you disfellowship jw with no problem?
"she said "yes,you just need to inform them".. i already knew the answer should be no cause they are shunned and this couldnt possibly be,.
she doesnt like ppl trying to modify her thoughts

As Heaven said, that's exactly what the society does, and they don't have any problem with that. The "Truth" as they call it can be summed up nicely in this: "anything the GB says". If you touch a doctrine that the GB teaches, you're questioning that "Truth". The doctrine in itself is not important, it can be changed at any time, but only by the GB, to keep up the "Truth".

This thought just occured to me: the jews were God's chosen people up until 70AD, right? Ok... but which group? The Pharisees? The Sadducees? Or other group? Funny that Jesus never said anything about that... although these two groups were opposite in many teachings. It's almost like... *gasp* all jews were God's chosen people, regardless of their doctrine.
This goes to show me that the whole arguments about God's real nature, the existance of a soul, Paradise on Earth and whatnot are just distractions from the real worship of God. He doesn't need the help of men telling others how to live, He gave us the Bible, that's all anyone needs.

I'm part of the non-English speaking "big crowd". Your examples are common mistakes us aliens do, and thanks, but I won't litter my browser with a spell-checker addon (ok, mostly because I'm confident with my english skill). The "u", "r", "thx", etc. is what annoys me instead, especially in a forum, where one has time to properly spell out full words. It makes me feel like I'm talking to a lazy teenager - not that I have anything against teenagers, it just often doesn't mesh with the ideas he's trying to convey to me.

Have you tried the built-in voice recognition in Windows? Not saying it's the best, but it's the cheapest On my Win 7 desktop I got acceptable results with commands - not dictating though, but that's mostly because my english is very accented, not being native english speaker.

I really doubt there's any new light on that. They must think of you as a complete outsider. It's an often used tactic on outsiders to say to the more wacky laws that they are up to someone's conscience. See as a reference QFR w99 11/1, where it says voting is a conscience matter. Guess what will happen if you do vote? At best a public reproval. Same goes here.

Exactly, that is what a literal interpretation would suggest. A "disciple" is an individual, not a whole organization.
