Their reason is, that it could stumble someone and he won't take the literature from you, because you might look like a hobo A nicely groomed hobo with a nice costume and tie. More likely a salesmen. Beards nowadays give more an air of intellect than of homeless guy.

SISTERS ON THE RAMPAGE!!
by highdose init was well commented on by the older ones in the borg that the sisters were on the rampage when it came to trying to get themselves married.. it was normal practice for sisters in the same click or age group to visvously stab eachother in the back, exlude them as much as possible from social events and gossip about them as much as possible.
by the time i had left this was such an established practice that it seemed normal.. all this in the hopes that they would be able to bag one of the rare single and sane brothers... at least this is what it was like in my part of the world... what about yours?.

Watchtower super sales pitch.
by edmond dantes ini recently looked at a copy of the watchtower and read a little of it but it seemed to me that it droned on and on in the same old way decade after decade.
however to somebody who is new to their little game i can see that their message would sound plausible because of their clever technique of selling the watchtower brand of religion.
in my eyes the books and mags.

The first time you see it, it looks like you are learning something new. After a few years, it is all the same old crap.
While applying to my current job, a psychologist tested me. Of course, when she found out I was a JW most of her questions revolved around that. I clearly remember her question why have I joined. And the answer was this, above - I mean the first sentence, the second sentence came later to my mind.
In the beginning I was actually proud to learn about the Bible, and all those answers that philosophy asks for centuries I have them now. So much bitter is the awakening that I still don't have the answers, and all that was left after those years was: sell or die.

Site To Refute Franz And Cameron

i thought loyal jw's were not even supposed to read such books.. .

Too bad the comments are down though, I read some more on the site, and it's going downhill. The guy is gripping at straws in his cognitive dissonance. At the blog entry The Truth About the Mexican Military and Jehovah’s Witnesses he wrote:
They had no choice in doing something illegal if they were going to continue to serve God. The fact is that they would either have to disobey God and obey the government by serving or obey God and do something illegal according to the government.
So what does the "Spirit-directed slave" do? Adopts a third choice, which the blog writer ommitted: disobey the government AND God. This is what in essence the bribe is.
He's also trying to explain bribe in Mexico is not so bad, it's socially acceptable No comment there.

Yep, no more comments, questionings allowed. Only praising words - there's one more comment left, easy to guess the content. Long live the freedom of speech!

if one is not so entitled we may be evasive
Why, pray tell, "may we be"? What's wrong with a simple "that is none of your business"? If he's not entitled to the truth, why does that entitle me to tell lies?
As Stephen said, we know who is the father of lies... and these are his children. Edit: for clarification by "children" I'm refering to the ones this idea is originating from, not the average JW, they're just caught in the web of lies.

On further thinking about it, maybe this whole "fractions allowed" changing was because all the deaths lay heavy on the GB's conscience? I've heard that full blod is very rarely used for transfer, it only happens when the patient has an accident and loses a massive amount of blood. In normal surgery they only use the needed fractions. So by accepting all fractions the mortality rate should drops significantly.
My wife got a DVD about the alternative methods not long ago, and I peeked in. They go on blabbing how the alternative methods are cheaper, the patients recover faster, it doesn't have the dangers of blood, etc. etc. But they say nothing about the most important statistics: mortality rate!
My wife's grandma was in the hospital not long ago, and the blood issue came up, so they asked the doctor casually, that if they give blood, can they guarantee the success? Alas they can't. The JW family feels sattisfied with that answer. Of course they can't! How stupid that question is? The correct question is: what has higher chance of success? (The grandma is fine now, didn't needed blood if you're wondering).

Highdose: my bad, it's Bulgaria. There are many threads on this, for example this: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/medical/185942/1/Clarification-on-Blood-in-Bulgaria the last post by TD describes the matter in short. Or try the search on "blood Bulgaria" on the site.

Full blood is still forbidden, they only allow fractions of the blood (you know, like ham, buns, and salad is ok to eat, sandwich is forbidden).
You may have heard of the Bulgary trial, where the government wanted to ban them because of the blood rule, so they said "noone is automatically disfellowshipped if they take blood". But that is just a simple lie to avoid ban. In truth they don't get "automatically DFd", they put a judicial committee first, where they disfellowship. It's not automatic at all...
