the estate is estimated to be worth $350 million.. "we have been receiving continual complaints from veterans that the historic building on mikhalkovskaya street currently houses a branch of the jehovah's witnesses," he added.. russia considers jehovah's witnesses a religious sect and its activities therefore illegal.

Hm, reading some more of him, he might be an appostate genius. I have a strong feeling he's in pointing out the faults of the WTS in a way that won't unmask him. My above quotes fit so well in this profile. Also he got involved in a discussion about what is acceptable, and after a big list of filp-flop on the blood doctrine he says "As you can see from above, they have been very consistent in the view of blood treatment." Later on: " in the new world that is guaranteed to happen after armageddon, which will happen very very shortly, in this generation of 1914. I share Aussie's views. While you made remarkable evidence for the trinity, it all boils down to faith. Battling using scripture quotes can get you nowhere in this, both parties have good arguments.
What is good imo is to show him the twisting the WT uses, as you did. While I was a JW I had no idea of the true concept of trinity either. Now I see it was deliberately fogged. The true concept is in fact very much acceptable in my view, just as the arian view is. Then it boils down to faith. Hence I conclude the WTS doesn't want their followers to rely on faith, they overwhelm them with "evidence" (true or contrieved) so faith will have no role.

because i live in a relatively poor country, the rate of piracy is extremely high, individuals practically never buy software, music and films are bought now and then.
this of course is against the law here too.. so what do jws do?

How come people with the least means of supporting themselves ''Pioneer'' ?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy cousin told me last week that for the month of february she was ''pioneering''.
here is a person who was divorced 2 years ago and had to move in with her mom because she can't afford to live on her own .she only works 4 days a week.
she pays $600 every 2 months for health insurance because she is self-employed.

Indeed Alan, that's what bothers me too. I can relate to them as persons, let's say a retail copy of Windows would cost some of them about a month's salary. It's ok... but by their "high morals" one can't even steal bread if he's hungry (for ex. w98 1/15 para 17). Software is not necessary for living - except if you're working in the field, but then it's investment, if you can't afford it look for some other job - so by the previous argument they can by no means justify the stealing.
I've met "worldly" people who say "yes, piracy is kind of stealing, but what can I do? I can't afford it, and I'm not really damaging anyone, I wouldn't buy it anyway". You have to respect that, if you steal at least accept that it's stealing, and don't act like you have 'oh so superior morales'. I live in Romania btw, and things started to get a bit better (before the global recession), meaning I actually saw individuals on the internet advocating against piracy. I can find much more software in the stores now, than say 10 years ago, but I still have to import the majority from the UK, mostly because of the price (it's a vicious circle really, because of high piracy the software is about 30-100% more expensive here than in UK). Still no change in JW land though... in this case the worldlies catch on the morality sooner.

Another marriage bites the dust thanks to the WT
by boyzone ini've known about this couple for a long time and attended their bible studies on occasions.
susan, the wife, has been having a study with the witnesses on and off for 16 years, (yeah i know, one of very useful wet day pioneer calls where we all bundle round sue's house for coffee and still count the time) the sister whose been studying with them was a sooper -uber pioneer sister with a hard-line and total society view on everything.
sue's husband keith has always been polite and interested in what his wife was learning but he loved his beer, fags and christmas too much to take it seriously.. finally a few months ago susan caves in to the pressure from uber-sister christine and wants to get baptized.

I feel sorry for them. My marriage is going down the drain too because of the WTS. The Society was proven time and again to destroy marriages. They keep printing success stories in their magazines to prove that they're not, but the fact is most of the time the only way a marriage can survive if they both convert.
It's like the husband becomes a drunkard, the wife wants to divorce him, then the husband argues: it's not the drink that's breaking our marriage! Come be a drunkard too, then we'll understand each other, and be happy!
