I feel the answer is a definite yes. Religion is (or rather *should*) only be spiritual people's gathering. Religion without spirituality is nothing (empty shells going through the motions of man made laws that defines what is right and wrong); spirituality can stand on its own, without man made crutches.

It should really be just pasting the link...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjV8SHjHvHk
Edit: ok, for some reason it didn't made it clickable for me either, so in this case you can do this: select the whole link, and click on the Insert/edit link button on top (looks like a chain), and paste the link there. The forum software sees that it's a youtube link, and embeds it automatically.
Oh, and thanks for the video

Did you carry any No Blood paraphernalia around?
by cult classic ini never really carried anything on me.
it was always fun getting the card signed and all (a welcome change of pace at the service meeting).
but i always thought it looked too weird to have that in my wallet.

I usually carried it with me, except when I had no pockets to put it in. I didn't put much significance to it, it was just a JW requirement like any else, and I went along with it the best I could, all the while hoping I'll never need it (I still hope I won't be in a situation when it would be used, but for other reasons).
About half a year ago I put it down definitely. I won't shred it, just to have a reminder what can this cult do to someone.
Lol 5thG, can anyone actually be that brainwashed to wear one of those?

How can I counter the isolation scripture?
by Strider Arekksu inwell, i talked to some elders and basically said the organization was calling the prophets and god liars, because they were disgarding the importance and relavance of some of the prophecies.
i told them that there is no true organization on the planet right now.
i used luke 21: 8, i used many scriptures and actually i qouted chapters, not just verses where it was obvious they were wrong, i counter verses, they didn't get them.

you have to work with the Bible, it's all you have.
I would add that you also have Christ.
Don't forget the Holy Spirit. The JW teaching that the HS only helps a small group of people called annointed (and not even them in fullest, only a very restricted "slave" group, aka GB) is simply lie. I view it as a tool of the devil to draw people away from God.

The generation changed is explained in the June 15'th WT!
by life is to short init is here in writing the new generation change.

Sir, if you don't see that contrary to what the dictionaries say about the word, Jesus evidently meant two groups by the word "generation", you sir lack faith. You might as well go around telling the historians are correct when they say Jerusalem was destroyed in 587 BCE instead of 607 BCE what evidently the Bible points at.

for those that married in the "truth"
by rockmehardplace inhow long did you date?
i was reading another post by exms and he mentioned three years.
in the area where i am at, three years would have never been accepted.

We dated 2 years too. I was still fresh in the lie, so I didn't really understand by the standards we're taking too long. When the elders asked me about my intentions, I said the engagement is set to about half a year from now. I was a bit puzzled that they were looking at me like I'm doing something wrong, and asked me "so the wedding only comes later then?" I had no idea back then that they were expecting us to be married after at most 1 year.

By their deeds you shall know them - aka JW's who aint that christian
by LaniB infirstly some background.. when i was 21 i went to live in sydney and left my congregation in tasmania.
until then i had never seen the bad side of the borg.
being new in town and staying with my non jw sibling i immediately checked in with the local congregation and soon found a fellow witness to share an apartment with.

Most people who are not JW's live with out moral restrain! All who have left the "Truth" regret it. June 15th WT
by life is to short inin the june 15th wt it says on page 9 i will just write it out as it is to hard and unbelievable to preface this.
so here it is.. "many who today are members of the christian congregation can tell you that before learning of and adopting jehovah's righteous standards, they lived without moral restrain.
yet, they were unsatisfied and unhappy.

Sadly it's true wobble. I just took an interrest in finding errors and fallacies in the magazines - which is too easy work actually.
I have a feeling the writers still have an ounce of honesty, and whenever they can, they avoid outright lying. Yet they choose the words so that JWs will come to the conclusion they want them to. In this case they know very well many who leave don't regret it, but they can't put that in writing, and saying "most who leave regret it" would be lying.
I find this sort of manipulation of truth to be worse than outright lying - it's deliberate twisting of words, that is harder to discover than the true lies.

Black Sheep: my wife is buying into this without any shadow of doubt. When I pointed the generation change to her, she thought it was perfectly logical, and a great provision from the "slave". As a sidenote she is quite intelligent, that is not the reason. The WT can say absolutely anything, and faithful JWs will still view it as coming from God.

Hm, is this an admission? Or someone was really careless?
In contrast, some who in the past chose to leave the 'safe water' of the Christian congregation now bitterly regret that decision.
I read this that the majority of those who leave don't regret it at all Which makes the rest of this tripe irrelevant.
