  I've lived in Australia long enough now to talk like one, though the odd kiwi lingo may slip out on occassion....as well as the occassional swear word...ta ta

  That means she doens't say "sex" for "six" and "fesh and cheps" for fish and chips etc

  its strange how you can always remember where you were when you first learn about a cataclysmic event.

  9-11 being the most recent case, or 11-9 in the uk.

  theres been other times, of course, jfks assassination being the most well recalled event up until the wtc affair.. but, i can actually remember what i was doing at this very hour 50 years ago to the day.

  It’s strange how you can always remember where you were when you first learn about a cataclysmic event. 9-11 being the most recent case, or 11-9 in the UK. There’s been other times, of course, JFK’s assassination being the most well recalled event up until the WTC affair.

  But, I can actually remember what I was doing at this very hour 50 years ago to the day. I was 5 years old, school was over, and I was walking down Bradford Road in Farnworth, Lancashire, intent on playing tig with the big boys gang that was run by 6 year old Jimmy Robinson.

  I can remember where I was too ..... Seems we are the same age too.

  It was morning here and I was on the back verandah where my mother was putting DDT in my hair for the latest creature infestation (nits) and our next door neighbour yelled out to my mother and told her that it had just come over the news that the King had just died.

  My mother immediately forgot about my infestation and sat down and cried her heart out and I finished the job on my head.

  i thought it might be a good idea to find out at what age or after how long we descided to leave the watchtower.. prehaps we my find a patern in it which we could use .. i think what we need to know are ,.

  There is no way I can put my ages as suncinctly as that:

  Daughter died December 1967. Sister knocked on my door in Jan 1968
  Started studying a month later when I was 22 - Feb 1968
  Attended my first meeting and Circuit Assembly at 22 - 1968
  Began attending all meetings full time at 23 - Jan 1969 after son was born and while he was still in Hospital as a premmie
  ..............
  Moved to Sydney when husband joined Air Force in May 1969 to get me away from them and I promised I would not seek them out --- I waited until they knocked on my door .. Interestingly we flew down to Sydney in the planes carrying many of the delegates to the International Assembley in Melbourne so I had lots of lovely people to talk to and who set a great example by helping me with my children

  Jan 1970, Sweet Sister Pioneer knocked on my door and retured tp introduce Husband to wonderful Brother ex-Sergeant who convinced Husband that he would be welcome to sit in and listen to what was being taught to me and disagree or question whenever he felt the need.

  Began meetings again in Feb 1970.
  Went into Field Service in June 1970 - age 25
  Finally baptised in 1971 age 26.
  Moved Congregations (Canberra) Jan 1972
  ...........

  Began having major doubts when had access to Library Info there
  By International Assembley in Sydney having a few problems but sublimated them seriously because Armageddon was coming

  Beginnning of 1975 I learn about Beth Sarim and 1925 false prophecy and just wait to see what would happen this time ......

  Husband leaves Air Force because of my entrenched fear about Armageddon and then refuses to be baptised. Elders counsel me to separate emotionally at least from him and help children to do so.

  Went to DA in Late November 1975 in Canberra. Hear excuse why Armageddon has not come and remember what we have been studying that least few weeks about Eve's age ..... walked out and never went to another meeting.

  Called into shop and purchased carton of cigarettes ..... Voted in National Elections a week later; gave my kids gifts on Christmas day (not christmas wrapped though), Had a great time at a New Years party and a champagne breakfast and then called the elders in and told them I was not coming back and if they wanted to they could get rid of me for smoking ..... cause I didn't want to see anyone again .....

  So I was 22 when I began seriously studying and 30 when I walked out.

  What a ride!!!

  I received an email recently from Moira Russell, the wife of Martin Russell (Dr Feelgood) to let me know that Martin had died from heart problems on Jan 9.

  NEW ARRANGEMENT: MORE THAN 100 CORPORATE "BRANCHES" NOW OWNED BY WATCHTOWER SOCIETY, INC.!!!

  What follows below is a PARTIAL listing of over 100 Corporations or "BRANCHES" [former congregations on local level] NOW legally owned as "Corporate Assets" of the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society. Currently more than 100 corporations owned by the WTS!

  Remember, this is ONLY a partial listing. And yes, individual "congregations" are listed too as "DBA" [Doing Business As] the "Watchtower Society" or "Jehovah's Witnesses", thus making the local congregations "legally" owned by the WTS under this NEW Corporate designation. They become the "Watchtower Society, Incorporated [doing business as] the Jehovah's Witnesses of Jasper, Kentucky BRANCH", for instance. They now become "branches" for the WTS Corporation!

  Therefore, legally speaking, by accepting this new Corporate designation of being "branches" for the WTS, the local Jehovah's Witnesses no longer "own" (if paid for), their respective Kingdom Halls anymore.

  It is now, legally owned by the WTS, as "branches" of that Corporation. They are "branches", "dba" [doing business as] as the WTS Corporation now!!!

  Recently, the WTS has asked the local brothers to turn over their kingdom halls to the WTS, in legal terms. And the local Jehovah's Witnesses have complied, without a whimper or one solitary concern. But after changing their "legal" name to the ones cited below, the local Jehovah's Witnesses can no longer claim "ownership" of their kingdom halls anymore. The local Jehovah's Witnesses and their paid for "kingdom halls" as real estate that are now owned, lock stock and barrel, by the wicked conniving Watchtower Society Corporate Conglomerate!

  QUESTION: What religion are you in now? ...

  this got me to thinking.... now that most of us have left the wts, i notice some have taken other belief systems.

  some have come to a peace with their own ideas.. my question is are you involved with another religion?

  has it brought you more peace or happiness?

  If you mean, 'What religious persuasion are you now?' I would answer "Christian".

  As a Christian I am happy to spiritually associate with any believer from any denomination anywhere ...... so the name on the door doesn't matter. When we stand to give an account of ourselves, God He won't ask what organization we were with, or were we loyal to that organzition, but what we did with our lives and the gifts he gave us (the parable of the 10 talents).
