One of the things we were taught well as JW's was how to be judgemental.
Do You Judge?
By Jan Tincher
Do you find yourself judging people when they do something *you* don't think is right? When they act a way that *you* don't consider to be the best way to act? When they say something *you* don't think should be said?
When you see someone walking down the street and they are someone you don't think you'd like to know, what's going through your mind? Are you judging them? Sure. We all do that to a certain extent.
Are we happy we judge? No. It's not right to put people down, if only in our minds.
To judge means you are making someone better than you or someone worse than you. Either way, someone gets put up and put down. That's not how life should be.
However, it is sometimes difficult not to judge, isn't it? All our lives we've been taught to think, rightly or wrongly, about what we or someone else is doing. Always, it seemed, there was a winner and a loser.
BUT, and it's a big but, that's not the way life should be. You never come out ahead when you put someone down. Not where it counts, anyway.
If you want to live the good life, and if you want to be at peace in a way that says you've arrived where you were headed, harm to no one, you know it can't happen if you continually judge people -- and someone comes out lacking. The minute you judge, you take a little bit of goodness away from yourself.
But it's a habit, what can I do?
Here's what you can do about it. Imagine the scenario where you have just judged someone. Now, imagine that someone has put a mirror to your face and you are seeing your face with your nose in the air. Not a very good picture, is it?
Now, someone is in front of you that you admire so much you just wish you were exactly like them. Someone puts a mirror up to your face. There you are, full of envy. Not a very good picture, is it?
Now, someone is in front of you that you hate. Someone puts a mirror up to your face. There you are, full of hatred. Not a very good picture, is it?
Do you think that if whenever you judged someone, everyone in the whole world would know what you are thinking -- just as you did when you saw your face in the mirror -- you would think twice about judging someone? I think so, too. Why not realize what you are doing ahead of time and DON'T DO IT? Give that other person a chance. You just might make some great new friends that way, and would that be terrific?

g'day mates.. i've been walking about the outback of the internet, to see if i can locate the wb&ts of australia's financial statements.. i've located a source, unfortunately i'm now stumped, since the source is only available to people located in australia.. if you are interested in following this up and getting the financial statements, let me know and i'll e-mail you instructions.. two things: you will require a fax machine to receive the goods, and a small payment will be necessary to an "information broker".. expatbrit
Go for it .......

folks, i know some of you feel a little peeved with the old h2o but i don't think you have been fair to the new one.
there is and will be a different attitude there and i have been assured of this by both rick and fd2.
i would like to encourage everyone here to cross post on h2o in the various forums .... let's make as many places as we can available for those who need support and questions answered .... theo nly wat to do that is let your past animosities go and think of those coming behind you.. if you have problems there then there is a forum you can post your complaints to and suggestiosn on what needs changing ... i just feel with the number of people here who could help those who come into h2o (and tishies board0 that we need to reach out a little more ..... go over and try it out folks and support others there too .......... http://www.aimoo.com/forum/freeboard.cfm?id=311102.
I am not talking about everyone posting everything on the other boards .... but there are articles posted here that could be posted over there that would help others ....
The stuff from Silent Lambs could be posted over there .....
The stuff Amazing has been posting could have been posted over there
Lots of things like that would help those who are coming through ....
MD ..... you mightn't want to read the stuff I post, then don't. There are plenty here and on other boards who do read it and if they don't reply publicly their thanks they write me privately ..... the number of those as against the few who don't appreciate the information cause you have already been-there-done-that is what I take notice of.

MD ... your lack of Prozac is shining through .... hope you can get some soon.
Meanwhile, I am more concerend about those who look for these boards like you and others did once.
Whether or not I am on them is not relevant ..... after all, each breath we take is a bonus - especially you and I with our ability to take falls and do damage ot ourselves
MD .... get past your animosity please and see to the needs of those who need support from ALL of us ....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You and thousands like you were lucky .... you were able to find support ...... thousands of us floundered for years without it and it damned near drove us to suicide thoughts ..... I have thousands of letters stored here that show what it has been like for those who didn't get support until some of us went public
The one thing I am ever so thankful for is the internet ...... no one has to suffer the pain so many others went through
The more active boards the better ......

the cia, israel's mossad, and many other intelligence gathering organizations, plant 'moles' in various places to keep an eye on whats going on (spying).. do you personally believe the society has planted 'moles' in various places?
do they have people in the media (television, radio, newspapers, and news magazines) do they have infiltrators in ex-jw ministries?
are they in the post offices watching the mail.
I have had a few post office workers disciplined for interfering with mail over the years ....
We had to do a few test mailings to catch them but it worked.
When I showed them the article about telling tales if you worked at a doctor, hospital or lawyers office etc they reall kept an eye out.
Have had the same problem in other areas too over the years ..... So have others. We had a large 40Lb box of literature disapear when it arrived at a Post Office in Perth a few years back. The Post Office transport remembered delivering it beause it was the heaviest one he had. It also had some distinctive markings on it to make it easily identifiable. But it didn't turn up at my friends home. She callled the PO and they said it wasn't to be found. I then got hold of the PO Transport and confirmed date and time of delivery to the PO. I then phoned Post Office concerned and gave him half an hour to deliver it to my friends home intact (on a Saturday even!!!!) or the whole damn postal department would be on their back.
It arrived at my friends home in 15 minutes! Needless to say there were a few redundancies that week!

it's a general question for anyone, and it's a very personal one that requires personal answers.
i'm not asking what the bible says, what science says, what the dictionary says, or what your mother says.
i'm asking how you, as an individual with your own ideas, feelings and perceptions, conceptualize spirituality.
This is how I see spirituality.
Spirituality, simply defined, is consciously pursuing a meaningful life, according to however one might define what makes life meaningful. It has to do with attending to one's inner life, to one's attitude toward and outlook on life. Spirituality is the realm of hopes and dreams, of values and ideals. It has to do with seeking and maintaining balance, externally and internally, and with focusing on the non-material aspects of one's life. It recognizes and values the aesthetic realm of art and music and poetry and sensuality. It has to do with the nurture and care of the human spirit.
Some practices that enhance our spirituality are conscious meditation on great things like music, creating art, walking, enjoying nature, celebrating holidays, observing life milestones, living mindfully, living simply and with focus, living with concern for ethics and social justice, cultivating the artistic and relational aspects of life, keeping the material aspect of life in balance with the nonmaterial, reading and contemplating fiction (including mythology) and poetry and philosophy, giving backrubs and making love.
A spiritual life is a life of quality - it is a life of care for other people, a life of integrity, and a life of receiving as well as giving. It is a life lived consciously, courageously, compassionately and wisely.
For Christians, spirituality is not a state of consciousness that believers enter into in order to feel closer to God. From a biblical perspective, spirituality is the process whereby the Spirit of God enlightens us (gives us eyes to see) by revealing the truth about God, the truth about ourselves, and the truth about the world. Spirituality is not some transcendent
place in never-never land. It is the pursuit of righteousness in the a world with other people like ourselves.
Real worship is not participation in a religious ceremony whereby the worshippers close their eyes to reality and enter into a
transcendent state of consciousness. These truths ought to determine how Christians think about worship. If I participate in a
religious service or discipline--be it prayer, a quiet time, Bible study, or attending church--and I consciously or unconsciously use that discipline to close my eyes to the truth about God, about myself, or about the world, then that discipline is not of God--no matter how "spiritual" it may appear. According to Paul, closing our eyes to the material world and discomfort of our moral and physical limitedness is not spirituality. Striving after moral purity in the midst of our fallenness is.
Don't let the world define reality for you, says Paul. Don't let your culture influence you such that it determines your values and how you look at reality. Rather, be in the process of having your mind renewed. Be in the process of bringing your perspectives of reality.
Believing they could close their eyes to the physical world and their moral limitations and enter into a spiritual consciousness that would give them power to overcome their daily struggles and moral failures was a fantasy for first-century believers. The same is true for us today. The "super-Christian"--one able to rise above his moral and physical limitations--does not exist. There are only garden-variety Christians, muddling along like you and I.
