If 'old Watchtowers' count as apostate materials then yes, yes, I did look at apostate stuff. Otherwise, no. I was too afraid I would lose Jehovah's spirit and protection for even glancing at some of that evil propaganda.

i've seen numbers from 65% to 88% who leave, never to return.. you'd think this would be a priority amongst the leadership, right?
where do tomorrow's leaders come from, if the vast majority of kids leave the organization?

Two years ago I attended a funeral service at my old KH. The Elders were old, really old. The youngest, my br-in-law is 66. 220 at the service and only one family with three kids. I asked an old friend if the kids were to stay home because of the crowd and the answer was, 'No, this is all we have'. Haven't been to any other meetings since I left. Is this becoming the norm? Lot's of older ones and few kids?

The answer to their 'Elder' problem is simple, but they will never do it. Use women in key roles. Pull out young ones to the 'back room' during the boring WT study and Public talk for youth centered education/indoctrination. And...use women to conduct those 'fun' Bible lessons that scare the kids to death.

Father Elders going mad !
by koolaid-man inthe stress on jehovah's witness elders raising their children in "the truth" is causing many to literally go mad.. keeping their children in " the spiritual ark" is becoming more and more difficult.. many elders are snapping under the pressure.. one of our guests on the six screens conference call told of her elder father ( who everyone at the kingdom hall thought was an angel) came home from the meeting and killed the family dog in the kitchen with his bookbag as the family looked on....... join us tonight oct. 22, 2011 at 7 pm edt.
.... our guest will be wendy lee tucker former jw whose father was an elder and terribly abused her physically and emotionally.. she received horrific beatings..... hit with a bat, punched at, receiving a broken nose and became a prisoner in her home.. wendy was looked in her room with the doors being nailed shut when the family went off to the kingdom hall.. a far cry fom being a "spiritual paradise".
it is easy to get on the call....no computer is necessary.... just dial 712-432-8710 and when asked for pin use 9925. our lines open at 6:30 pm edt.....so come on early and talk with all those who have been "touched by the tentacles of the watchtower".

Nothing wrong with Ric bringing in an abused XJW and interviewing them, but......the way its handled helps almost no one. The subject matter is real. It happens among the JW's.
Start with a legit issue that people ARE concerned about. Ask questions about the matter, then interview one or two that experienced it. Followed by asking the audience if they have noticed the problem and illicit responses of their experiences.
Real people with real problems, that are unique to the WT with a clear purpose behind it. Not just for the sake of 'Geraldo-like' sensationalism. You don't need wild and crazy 'mad' titles to get peoples attention. A good solid question will do.

Greetings Cedars.....
I've been away for some time, but a recent bout with insomnia brought me back last night. I'm sorry to see your spirit dampened by some remarks on your brilliant idea. It happens to be the 'nature of the beast' of JWN. For all the good that happens here, there is always a few comments that sway negatively.
You do bring up a point that many of us have thought about. Can we be more organised, with better purpose, to one, help those curious and leaving to land more softly. And two, do our best to keep people from EVER getting involved with the WTS in the first place. These are areas where I feel we can have our best success. Waking people up is very challenging with the WTS's instilling so much fear of apostate reasoning. But we still try....
I hope we can stay in touch somehow, if you do leave this site. Would you be so kind to keep us informed.

Can anyone find any racist comments in WTS publicaions found on the CD?
by Chemical Emotions ini cannot find anything remotely racist, and yet i know that some of their older publications that they do not include on the cd has some racist opinions.
i was wondering if anyone else found anything from newer publications.. i don't want there to be any commentslike that, i'm just curious.

Most of their predjudice is gender based. Women are not qualified for responsibility in the organisation. If they are not permitted to teach in the congregation, then how can they lead?
