  how can the greatest commandment be to love god?

  why did jesus say to his disiples that he loved them for keeping his commandments?.

  doesnt being commanded to do something take away our freewill?.

  Hi Teel

  I used to take the scripture as you did.(Because it was a scripture from the" BIBLE". Any other HOLY book and I think I would have found the scripture abhorant.

  My question is not the scripture but the word commandment. (Unless the word COMMANDMENT couldnt be seperated from the scripture?)

  Hi Barbra

  You said I can get more scriptures IF I need to. That is a very profound "IF" and why my faith is not destroyed. If there was only one "IF" to God I would be athiest. But the fact their are so many "Ifs" to finding God means I will keep searching.

  Whilst Iam not writting as a beliver in God. Your comment raises a great question in Gods defence. If time doesnt exist then of course God can have no time for anyone.

  I belive that much in the world we think exists only exists in the false thinking of people. Iam convinced the Jehovers Witness concept of God is false. But by existing in the mines of people it has very destructive consequences on peoples lifes. Maybe our concept of time is also false and time doesnt exist?

  So where do you do the research?

  ok so i'm really trying to figure out what i believe about the bible, god, religion, etc... where do you research or find something to study that isn't tainted with someone else's beliefs or opinions?

  this might be a dumb question, but i seriously don't even know where to start.. .
