  i was recently doing some personal reading when i came across this qote from an unnamed jewish rabbi, "there are times when we have questions we cannot answer, and the ultimate test of our faith is to believe that there is an answer, even though we could never fathom what it might be".. i have been very content the last few years just recovering from the cult and have not been looking for something to replace it.

  the biggest reason i left was the fact that the jw's got so many initial beliefs incorrect, including the three "generation changes inthe last 20 years".

  not knowing an answe to an question that could only be answered with speculation was not an issue for me.. this quote, whether you put stock in it or not, initiated me revisiting what beliefs i may or may not have.

  An interesting thought from the Rabi. Personally I believe there is an answer for everything. The only problem is we cannot fathom the question.

  Porn is .....Mostly Irrelevant

  this is one of those things that can amaze you (well, me actually).

  you are taught a relentless fear about porn and it gets demonized heavily - but what is the real result?.

  most guys don't want a porn star for a wife and separate fantasy from reality in regard to interaction with the opposite sex.. maybe that's why religious types like witnesses demonize it so much: they are unable to distinguish fact from fantasy.. see:.

  Not being an American I am however exposed to "American Cinema" and whilst it may be in my opinion entertaining. It creates images of masculinity and femininity that nobody can live up to- The result of this is in my opinion is as damaging as the porn industry and sadly maybe more rellevent.

  Whilst I agreed with "thetrueones" thinking I am also open minded . I therefore found it sad that you insult people on the internet because you dont agree with their thinking.

  The Governing Body is Powerless (Without Comradeship)

  the governing body is powerless (without comradeship) and comradeship is one of the great needs for people.. the price for this companionship is a persons individuality, as individual love is exchanged for communal individuality and communal love.. because of the humun need for comradeship the governing body can teach whatever they like and demand what ever they like from the masses.. iam glad i exchanged comradeship for an individual life and freedom .. acolytes..

  faithful and eager students of the scriptures figured out (and "proved") jesus would return to kill the wicked and reward the meek in 1874. the signs were obvious.

  Hi Terry Although still incomplete it was a remarkable list of "Watchtower Assurances and Re-Re-Reassurances. However most witnesses today confronted with that list will not be effected. The assurances were written in the past and in the mane wont effect the heart and mind of "The current generation" Witnesses are not interested in a clear-eyed autobiographical analysis of their history- Acolytes

  Hi Alany You said "much harder in the real world but at least you know they are true friends." It is sad but true that most people will join the thugs(comradeship) to avoid being beaten up.And you will find these thugs in all religiouse and business led organisations.( Sadly that is the real world) Acolytes

  Interesting thought Mad Sweeney. Iam afraid from the exsperience in my congregation comradeship is why many remained witnesses. I challenged many on one to one conversations before I left. Normally by a persons silence occassionally (When over the telephone) they admitted it was ( All their friends were at the K.H) i.e Comradeship that kept them in the organisation.(I found it pathetic that strict elders could govern the flock when they new it was B...!!1 Acolytes
