  Alternative Words

  in the interest of keeping things "clean" i am attempting to use other words when i want to use american slang, or curse words.

  for instance, the word fucx is apparantly banned here now.

  i have found some words, in other languages that mean the same thing...the hard part will be trying to figure out what language is being used.

  Last Supper

  when i was a young teenager i took a year to complete leonardo da vinci's last supper.

  it was a very large paint by number.

  my dad proudly had it framed upon completion and hung in in our dining room.

  Sounds extremely strange. Da Vinci painted this around 1495! Of course there were gay people back then too, but so publicly gay that it's known about them 500 years later? I don't think so. I would actually be surprised if scholars can name all those models today. Any art historians here??

  Sounds like an urban legend, and a weird one at that.

  Just wanted to say, I know all men aren't like that so don't jump on me about it, just thought it was cute.

  Heck, except for the TV part (don't even have one), it would work on me

  Personally, I think men were treated better than women in that comparison. Perhaps you should say that not all women are like that. Or are they?

  The Pedophile Paradise

  the pedophile problem among the jws is very significant.

  over a year ago i made some extrapolations from a poll on jwd that conservatively suggested about 5,300 jw molesters in the usa, or about (1) jw pedophile for every (2) jw congregations in the united states.

  given that pedophiles molest many victims, at least 70 or more in their criminal careers by conservative estimates, this can add up to a lot of victims --- not all are necessarily jw victims --- but still the collective crimes of jw pedophiles would average over 370,000 victims.. since that time that over 5,000 victims have come forward to email, phone, and write letters to silentlambs --- as stated last night on connie chung/cnn.

  The term "pedophile paradise" is very fitting, but it has little to do with numbers.

  The term was originally coined here in Norway many years ago after a number of publicized cases. It did not refer to the number of victims or criminals. It refers to the fact that the WTS protects pedophile predators in their ranks from the authorities. Thus, once you are a pedophile, you are safer in the JW organization than elsewhere. This has been well documented and is not in serious dispute.

  Let's not confuse the issue by propagating dubious figures.

  Amazing,

  When I sat with this attorney he said that most people have no idea of how bad the problem is, and when I suggested 70 victims average, he corrected me to say over 300 minimum. I don't know ... I honestly don't.

  You'd end up with more victims than there actually are JWs then, I guess...

  Social science is a craft, folks. It must be learned and studied, and the pitfalls are legio. Even people who spent a lifetime doing it professionally tend to do serious mistakes. Don't damage the cause by doing hack jobs that get picked apart if ludicruous fugires hit the press.
