Where would one obtain such books? I think it would be great to have some on hand for if and when my wife decides to start questioning again.
i've been reading a lot of topics lately, asking how to handle rabid jw family members/ elders to prove 1914, 1925, 1874, generation, blood, vaccanations pyramids.
etc false using only wts publication... well it's not so easy, you have to have knowledge of wts history and the bible.
watchtower history being the key point.

if one 'googles' the phrase, you get 167,000,000 hits!.
'bing' it, and you get 129,000,000 hits.. here is a sampling of opinion from just the first page of google hits.. 1] douglas groothuis, ph.d., teaches philosophy at denver seminary.
here is his 'take' on truth: http://www.leaderu.com/theology/groothuis-truth.html.
Whatever Truth is, it is simple, it is basic, only man convolutes it.
The laws of cause and effect, so simple, so basic, so true and so misunderstood.
Choices and consequences (cause and effect).
Action, re-action (cause and effect).
Our world changes when we change (cause and effect).
Beliefs affect us and how we interact with our world. Our beliefs can free us or they can shackle us. If you believe in magic, you'll live a magical life.
Perhaps that is why it is stated in the Bible under Titus 1:15 that "To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted."
i've read some old posts and they don't really fit my situation.. my wife just told me she wants a divorce and that's it after nearly 20 years., she doesn't want to try to work on it.. other posts talk about friends and family.
i have no family and no friends (due to a lot of traveling).. i went back to my hometown a year ago (after many years away) and even then old friends treated me as a stranger, like they've moved on.. i've had a lot of emotional / mental problems, basically a breakdown so have found it impossible to fulfill my role as a husband for many years, emotionally and physically and she said she's had enough, although she's never talked about it before.. she went out and had an unplanned one-night-stand.
i forgive me but she says she doesn't love me anymore.. we both find it very difficult to communicate our feelings.
“Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not. Attachment leads to jealously. The shadow of greed, that is.”
"The fear of loss is a path to the dark side, young one," warns Yoda. "Rejoice for those who transform into the Force. Mourn them not. Miss them not. The shadow of greed, attachment is. What you fear to lose, train yourself to release. Let go of fear, and loss cannot harm you." In essence, Yoda is saying that loss, pain, and death are natural experiences for every human being. It is the inordinate fear of and wish to avoid such experiences that makes one vulnerable to the dark side.

JA-HE-SHU-A ME-SHU-ME-SHU-A
Anyway, IMHO, all I know is you got to be blunt with someone who says they want to leave. My wife tries that tactic with me from time to time when I don't always want to go along with some of the things she wants to do. All I say is, "If you are truly that unhappy with me then bye." It use to bother me that she would want to leave me, it still does from time to time. If she left, I know I would be hurt, upset, angry with myself and her.
But....
If she is that unhappy with me, then bye.

bangalore.
Human Rights Commission (HRC) director Enock Mulembe says they have held two round table meetings with members of the Jehovah's Witness in the last two years.
Mulembe says their stance as a Commission is that in a case of a child, they look at what is in the best interest of the child.
"If we are faced with a situation of life and death and what will save the child is blood then transfusion is in the best interest of the child and if the parent refuses, other means will be used. My own opinion is that doctors do the right thing if it is the interest of the child to save life. I want to believe that even if the Commission takes a stance, what the Commission will look into is what is in the best interest of the child," he says.
However, he says this does not mean that they disrespect their beliefs but freedom of conscience must be subject to some limitation.
Mulembe says in this case, limitation comes when the life of a child is threatened.
"You can't continue to say that my religion and conscience does not allow, so transfusion cannot take place. The child is an individual separate from parents so as a person, the child is entitled to the right to health. I think what we need to understand is that while we respect what we believe in, it is not to violate another person's life. If denying that child the right to health, we won't support that," he says.
He says the Commission however does not get such complaints.
Amen
So let me get this straight...
Me: If your child was dying and the best chance of saving his life is a blood transfusion, you would let them die?
Witness: Do you not have faith in God?
Me: That's beside the point. Your argument is a straw man. This has nothing to do with whether or not one has enough faith. Besides, do Christian Scientist have more faith than Jehovah's Witnesses because they believe that they should refuse all treatments and rely on their faith in God? Even if it means the loss of their children?
celebration for some and gnashing of teeth for others.
some are feeling angry and wounded tonight.
some are celebrating vindication after much rhetoric and inaccuracies.
Yizman you are one of the "lucky ones" who would receive expanded medicaide benifits. The problem is how long will you need to wait to be seen?
How long does he wait to be seen now? Without health insurance, he can't just go to any private doctor without sufficient cash up front. So without the cash, the wait there is indefinite. How about the emergency room? In my hometown, where unemployment is high, there are a lot of people there waiting for minimal services. Even hospitals shutting down or changing hands. Looking for a reason not to treat people.
How long is the wait now?

All this talk about raising taxes to pay for this plan, SCARY!
The tax boogie monster is going to eat half my pay in taxes for this 'entitlement' program.
Hmmmm, considering that half my pay already goes out to things like health insurance, 401k, HSA savings, and dependent care flex, I don't really see where it is going to make a difference.
But I do see where it may be beneficial though.
If the government takes the money I am already putting out for health insurance and HSA savings in the form of a tax and I know I can now go to the doctor without having to fork over even more money to pay for medical coverage. SIGN ME UP!!!!
here is a quick version of my life in the org.
i was born and raised in it.
my father was physically and mentally abusive to my siblings and i. he was inactive from the meetings and service for much of my life.

recently i bought a great book "escape" by carolyn jessop.
this lady was born in a fundamental polygamist mormon comunity and managed to escape with all her 8 kids in 2003. she wrote this book as her life story.. its on one hand interesting to see how ridiculous the life in their community is and on the othe other hand its so similar to jw.... discouraging higher educationbelieving everything out of their religion is satanicblindly following what their "prophet" (fds) sayswomen must be obedient to husbands in everythingspanking kids is following gods commandno holidays and no christmassmy wife still is a jw, but this book really is an eye opener for jw.
its not "apostate", it is exposing "false religion", so there is nothing wrong for jw to read it - i strongly recommend this book if you want to help them to see how stupid some aspects of jw life is.. btw - do you recommend some other books that jw would read, but could help them to wake up?.
