Come on now, why can't anyone just accept that the Jehovah's Witnesses have The Truth TM ?

Make the 'truth' your own.
i have thought long and hard about ways to silence a jw who is inquiring about your defection of their religion.. they will look at you as a fool.
someone without faith and trusting in "man alone.
" a jw is programmed to never blame "jehovah" for the works of any man, so if anyone leaves the "truth" because of something the governing body did or is doing, they look at you with pity because you have fallen into an "easily avoidable" trap, all they think you have to do is pray and rely on your creator alone and everything will turn out ok.. so, here is a transcript of something i am working on, it's a conversation with a jw about "your decision.":.
My wife would try her best to overtalk me if I somehow triggered her cult personality while doing this. On a very rare occasion, she might be more at ease and in her authentic personality and allow this kind of reasoning to progress.
you may not remember, but i know you very well.
i met you a long time ago when you came to my house with your smiling faces, your neat clothes, and your soft voices, and a bible tucked neatly under your arm.
you told me many beautiful stories of a "paradise earth," and a "righteous new system" which would be established shortly.

I may consider putting a copy out somewhere at the memorial.
i have read that up to 67% of all jw's leave the religion when they come of age.
so i wish i could know why the others stay.
in your opinion, what keeps them in?
I believe in my wife's case, it is family, the fear of dying, and the belief that this is the only true religion (which no doubt was drilled in her head since infancy). I think deep down she is a spiritual person, like I am, but has been misguided by this religion. I am thankful that my own parents allowed each of us kids to find their own way and I plan to allow my children too to find their spiritual path if they so choose.
No doubt, considering what some other posters here have said, that my daughter may end up choosing the witnesses simply because I will constantly assure her that she has my unconditional love whereas she may see mommy not being as unconditional.
mine was filled with shock and anger but mostly anger.
it made me feel that way because i have never been lied to like that growing up in the religion with it being all you know.
.
It explained a lot when I found out. I remember hearing this many years ago by an old friend of mine who was a witness at the time denying that they were a cult. From what she told me, the main differences were they use Hades where most Bibles use Hell and they use Jehovah where most Bibles use God or LORD.
A few people over the years told me that it was a false religion but when I met my wife, I looked into it and began to suspect that it was not as bad as it was made out to be.
Only when I got troubled and really began doubting my own faith and believing that this religion may indeed be the truth did I start searching. Boy was my eyes OPENED! Changing the scriptures to fit their doctrines, teaching that Jesus was not our mediator, the FDS was not the entire body of Christ but the 144,000 annointed ones, and all of their false teachings regarding the pyramids and their failed prophetic dates.
When I found out it was a cult I was kicking myself for not seeing the signs. A high control religion that made me depressed when I considered the possibility of actually placing myself in subjection to it. The same depression I use to experience at that old fundy legalistic rules based church I use to attend.
my witness mate says he's going to go to the philippines to find himself a witness wife....i've seen a number of them here with much older men....sometimes they have kids and all........what you think?

p.s don't ya hate that friggin add on here....make me look like a dirty perv at work!!!!!!
I think if I had not have been a bit apprehensive concerning their potential ulterior motives, I probably would've married one of these foreign girls. I particularly digged asian women. I guess my timing and theirs just did not agree. They prefer a bird in hand rather than two in the bush. I would've at least insisted on corresponding for a year to see if she really was sincerely interested in me as a person and not as a meal ticket to citizenship. However, none of them lasted more than a few months before they began to get pushy.
Of all penpals I ever had, only one of them would I consider marrying to this day. Ironically, she had no interest in moving to the states since she was quite happy living in the United Kingdom with her family. She was asian, muslim but later renounced that faith and became atheist. We kept it as friends as she and I both began seeing people locally and I lost touch with her back in the late 1990's.

I have mixed feelings on this. I use to write overseas penpals and chat with Asian women many years ago. Many were marraige minded. Some were very nice. However, I never could quite get past the possibility that they are after a green card. I dated one asian girl who was in the country on a visitor's visa for two weeks. She and I hit it off but I think she was after more. I like taking things kind of slow. These girls do not wait for anything like that.
I guess results may vary.
sharing this, because what is given me, is for relaying to all.. the pieces of the mass puzzle are finally being put together on many things.
still trying to sort out the full details on this amidst the whole bible, but one thing is certain, and will show some sciptures here right now, what the confusion is from.
why some think jesus is god, why others say that's impossible, etc.
