Well, if he against his will is forced/encouraged to watch this film, what wouldn't make more sense than doing this as reportable time.
I see, so a waste of time. Well, I am still debating whether or not I should do it or leave it alone. If we do it, I will insist that my wife watch with me but I need to be prepared.
Alfred,
Got your PM.

The question I have is, should I even bother? I am not even sure why he wants to watch this particular video. I’ve already seen it with my wife a few days ago and already seen how they leave a lot of details out concerning their teachings of old. I also indicated to him that my wife and I have already seen this DVD together.
I know the congregations are asking their witnesses to look at this video but I did not think that this included looking at them with unbelievers. My guess is that he believes that it may sway me if I took a look at its beginnings and that he has probably already seen it and feels very encouraged by it. Perhaps he feels that this is the proof he needs to show me that Christ selected them in 1919, the proof that I asked for some time ago. If it is, any advice on how I can use this video to show that it is not?
The thing that bothers me is that he still has not provided me any proof on why their blood doctrine is scripturally (not to mention logically) sound.

What apostates fail to recognize is...
by nananana inyou can cut & paste all the excerpts from articles you want...you can leak all the boe letters, you can pretend to be witnesses and come to the conventions and meetings...but.
no other organization can begin to rival the success and magnitude of the prophecy found in mt 24:14. so apostates....don't waste your time spending countless hours digging up articles and reading books to convince yourself to turn away from jh's organization.
no matter what "evidence" you find you cannot ignore the obvious fulfillment of matthew 24:14.. .

In summary, as we learned in this week's Bible study Acts 18:6 "Let your blood be upon your own heads. I am clean."
Yawn... If this don't sound like the stuff my wife says as she is walking off trying to avoid any deep thinking. Don't waste your time, this person is not listening.

People leave the Org but don't drop the doctrine?
by Momma-Tossed-Me inthis deserved its own thread.
one thing i have observed being able to speak freely to individuals now about the wtbts is that even though they fade, they hold one to all or a portion of the doctrine.. if you examine the doctrine openly and fully you will see it has as many holes in it as the org does.
although it may appeal to you it doesn't make it sound scripturally.

I think they have their bible facts in order much better than all the other Christian faiths that are mixed with Pagan stuff, Trinity garbage etc.
Interesting, I can just as easily say that upon leaving the IFB's I felt that they had their Bible facts in order more so than other faiths. They believed in the 'Trinity garbage.' It's all about perspective really as I too did not leave the IFB churches because of doctrine.

I notice a lot of people who post here would often remark about some of the things that the Watchtower has right. Their favorite targets tend to be the Trinity, hell-fire, and the immortal soul. I cannot hold that against them, though. Upon leaving the IFB's, I too held on to a lot of their teachings and believed them to be correct. That is just the nature of how cultists think upon exiting their cults I guess.

Who has "reverted back to apostate [Christian] doctrines"
by biometrics inif you were a jehovah's witness have you "reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by christendom"?.
"from time to time, there have arisen from among the ranks of jehovah's people those who, like the original satan, have adopted an independent, faultfinding attitude...they say that it is sufficient to read the bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home.
but, strangely, through such 'bible reading,' they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by christendom's clergy were teaching 100 years ago...".

Some excerpts from Paul Blizzard's personal testimony.
All this time I believe God was leading us to study His Word alone apart from books. Even though we had our own New World Translation of the Bible (translated by the Watchtower Society and refuted by Hebrew and Greek scholars as being a biased, twisted version of the Bible), we bought a New American Standard Bible.
My wife and I secretly studied our new Bible long hours into the night, discovering that many of the major doctrines that we had been willing to die for were false. I shared with my father some of the things I had discovered. Being an elder, my father saw that I was questioning some of their main teachings, and he reported my wife and I to the elders, to stand trial for apostasy.

LOL, You would think that should tell somebody something, huh? Read the Bible alone, without WT goggles, and believe the same teachings as 'apostate' Christendom. I was never a witness but I do know of one witness who had this experience. He is now a senior pastor of a Southern Baptist church.
