I was recommended to direct a drama once, but I wasn't chosen. I was disappointed. (How Silly it seems now)
I never did a baptism talk either. I was always disappointed with that too (what a sorry looser....haha). Now I'm glad I never contributed to one of those stupid baptisms. (except for my own, a couple bible studies. and my 2 kids....who are now aware of the WTS crap)
I always had to do complex parts, lots of demonstrations, lots of rehearsals....what a waste.
thanks for making me remember the wasted years...lol...can I go have a nice Friday now?

so, for a while now jw's have been voicing the familiar "it can't go on...things are so hard".

i'm in the usa, and the economics are tough, relative to this country.

Last Saturday morning, I ran to the hardware store. A former CO (retired in a circuit provided house) was in the hardware store. I stopped at Starbucks....more JW's. I got gas at the Chevron and looked inside the McDonald's and saw 4 elders having coffee.
It's the typical act I remember. Meet at 9:30 am, text and chat, out the door around 10:15. Do a Charlie call, coffee or errands at 11:00. Home at noon.
I really admire their whole-souled service to their God. In the business world, we would fire them.

The developed world is having hard economic times. So, for a while now JW's have been voicing the familiar "it can't go on...things are so hard". I'm in the USA, and the economics are tough, relative to this country. But we are far above the conditions in most of the world through most of history. The convenient line of the JW is "the end is close because it's hard". Haha....tell that to a person in a third world country.
It's been a while since I heard "things are so smooth....peace and security. It must be close since things are so good"
Either way, they have a line to use. But they howl more when things are hurting. Too bad the GB has left so many with little retirement and no skills.

My father's funeral

last week i attended my father's funeral in hobart.

i was the first time i have been in a kingdom hall in several years, and many years since i had attended the hall of my childhood, but felt like it was just yesterday.

the funeral talk was quite a departure from normal, so worth writing about.

as i read the ray franz books a couple years ago, he mentioned several things that i had personal knowledge of.

this really gave a ring of truth to everything he wrote, even if there were some things that couldn't be verified.

one thing was the idea that some of the gb thought sputnik was a signicant event marking the last days.

One thing was the idea that some of the GB thought Sputnik was a signicant event marking the last days. This was not offically taught. BUT, I personally heard Schroeder present this idea from the platform at a special event (as they were called in the day). It was in Pocatello, Idaho.
JW's had always said Ray's books were full of lies. But several small things like this that I personally knew were true really helped me trust the content of those books.

so this weekend my wife had a major grand mal seizure for the first time in her life.

she was rushed to the er.

a few hours later while i was at her side she had another major one.. it was the scariest moment in my life.

Please don't give up. Hang on buddy. We can get such pain from all of this, I know personally. Getting some professional help was key to me. and I only went for about 6 sessions. There will be better days. You can find a new normal.
