For God/Truth Seekers Only!
by Nicola.threeangelsmessage infor the past three years, my husband and i have been watching these sermons by remarkable worldwide speakers.
the biblical truths we have learnt from their presentations, in such a short period of time most definitely tip the scales compared to the truth the jw.org led me to believe i had for over 20 plus years of my life.
thanks to these videos, we have now found the truth and the truth is jesus christ (john 14:6).

jw.org cart days numbered?
by jookbeard inreading a report of an elder in a friends cong has been hiding and spying on the pioneers who seem to have a practise of dumping the cart and finding a local coffee shop, i've noticed that they do this in my local high street as well but this week they seemed to be all huddled around the cart, they've clearly been warned, a vast percentage of the time i see they seem to be more interested in fiddling with their mobile phones and gossiping, is just seems these carts are a means for the pioneers to turn in "easy time" i wonder what sort of figures show how much literature is being taken by the public?
i bet its very minimal.
naturally the gb would say they are a phenomenal success , we clearly know they are not.

itkh. I've had several shots of the carts. a couple of weeks ago, I had to squeeze a cart over my wife and daughters knees in the back of my car as my mother in law was in the front. the other cart was in the boot. My wife's face was a picture. I dropped them off to do the carts whilst heading off on some RV's. then had to do it all over again when returning the carts :-). it cheered me up seeing my wife's face in the mirror. 'Carts again next week dear'? -

Hi Brock, yes absolutely. I am about quarter of the way through escape from paradise just past the bit about where you had heat stroke after one of those marathon conventions. As I read about your childhood, I think about my young daughter. I think balance is the key in my situation as my wife is full on in. Your last book brought things to life for me. In fact, I brought up a couple of videos on you tube on bethel, to picture what your book mentioned. Lo and behold, a video pops up by someone from China filming this very tall young man ' pressing shirts'. He looked so out of place. He looked the kind of guy you would see walking out of a building in wall street! yet here he was pressing shirts most likely all day every day. It just backed up what you mentioned in your book how much of the work at bethel is simply soul destroying. Anyway I'm off to read the rest of your latest book :-). TE -

Hi Brock, I just finished reading your first book journey to Gods house. You described everything as I had imagined bethel to be. It really didn't surprise meat all for some strange reason. Your experience was very interesting and enjoyed your candid views on how you felt about things when there. I enjoyed your book immensely and have downloaded your other book just now. I am looking forward to reading it over the coming week. All the best TE -

Doh! wife is about to hear the trololol song
by freemindfade indoh!
here i sit on my laptop on this site, while the wife is watching dubtv over there, she is watching the feb one with trololololy song at the end... i am trying to hold back my laughter because i know it is coming soon!
how will she react???
-
Truthexplorer
I purposely encouraged my 'totally in' wife (and daughter) to have a look at the trolley song. I mentioned that a brother said it was 'different'. We then skipped to the end of the broadcast to see my wife's reaction. I asked what she thought. She said 'it sounds like a Disney song!' I said yeah....I was expecting willy wonka to pop up on the screen :-) -

This weeks #2 & #3 talk on homosexuality
by granada35 inafter a one year sucessful fade and no longer associated with any congreation, i was visiting my sister this week (who goes to the meeting to please her husband for now; i am slowly planting seeds though) and they decided to year this weeks midweek meeting via the telephone.
since i was a guest in her house, i sat with them in the living room to hear the meeting.
to my surprise (especially growing up as a gay jw with still alot of anger in my heart over how i was treated), the talks 2 and 3 where on, of course, homosexualiy.

love-uni hate-exams
First and foremost, I am a Christian. I choose to lead my life as a Christian (as a disciple of Christ). I follow closely in his footsteps and therfore choose to live my lifestyle in accordance with the Christian way of life. Some of the individuals I work with are gay and choose to live their lifestyle the way they want to live it. That is their choice of lifestyle, but as a christian I choose to live my lifestyle within the boundaries set out in the bible. I follow Gods word as a Christian becuase I beleive it is the inspired word of God; and because I beleive it is the inspired word of God, I beleive that Marriage should only be between a man and a woman for the purpose of procreation and sustaining the family unit. YHWH clearly outlines this in his word. In all honesty, if Jesus came back tomorrow and you asked him that very same question, what do you really think he would say?
As a jehovahs witness, I do not hate gay people, because one day that person might become a Christian, so I treat them the same way as I would anybody else. This would obviously be a huge sacrifice of the temporary enjoyment he or she may have in this world. But all of Gods people throughout history have had to make sacrifices in one way or another to remain faithful.
Littlerockguy
Matt 5:17,18 - Jesus had a deep respect for the law. If he respected the law, he would have obeyed what his father in heaven had commanded in regards to immorality. The law condemned homosexuality - leviticus 18:22, 24-30 . I could quote numerous scriptures, throughout the old testament, but a quick search on line shows these. Again as per above. What would Jesus say if he was asked the same question today?
God wants all to attain to repentence. Yes it would mean a lot of sacrifice for many individuals. But some have in the past lived this lifestyle and turned around; and that takes a lot to do that.
The brother I referred to earlier is probably a great example of someone who puts his love for God over his own desires. He is making that sacrifice and many of the brothers are aware of that which we truly admire. Without any doubt, if he wasnt a practicing christian, he would more than likely live such a lifetyle. This brother by the way is very well thought of by many brothers and great fun to be around.
As I say, from a christian viewpoint, its about being balanced as to the way we treat people, but by the same token educating people about christian values and looking beyond the temporary enjoyment of this world to the Kingdom ahead

admttedly i dont like coming on here because I find the reasoning on here quite incredible. I personally work with people who are gay. I am a jw. I simply follow the biblical approach to things in line with scripture.....Gods own word. I personally dont judge such ones. Thats jesus role when he returns. I thought the meeting this week about this subject was balanced and in line with scripture. I dont see it any different to any other form of immorality. At the same time, a persons love for God can help them overcome this temptation. Its about having a balanced approach and not false reasoning. I know one brother who has managed to control such feelings in this life and is an upstanding christian. God and Jesus dont change their views on morality because society decides to change it.

144000 Literal or Figurative?
by why144000 inthe speaker at the memorial tonight stated straight up that the 144,000 is a literal number as we will stop celebrating the memorial when jesus 'arrives' and takes the few remnant with him.
how can the society change the 144,000 to figurative without blowing themselves out of the water?.

The searcher, your point is the only way they can dig themselves out of the hole they have got into. keeping a count of numbers of this that and the other is pointless. and will lead to further embarrassments ahead.

The watchtowers biggest mistake
by Truthexplorer inthe moment the leadership of the wt (a publishing company whose purpose was originally to produce pamphlets and books to edify christians) first made the claim to be gods sole channel of communication for dispensing biblical truth here on earth.
that not so discreet assumption has now left them wide open to 'everything they teach as truth'.
as a result, every time an error is exposed or a teaching is changed, their credibility will continue to be affected.

That not so discreet assumption has now left them wide open to 'everything they teach as Truth'. As a result, every time an error is exposed or a teaching is changed, their credibility will continue to be affected. Let's say they had never claimed to be Gods sole channel of communication, that they continued to offer their thoughts in publications that were written simply to edify Christians faith; and like the other bible student groups allowed each congregation the autonomy to be led by the holy spirit as it was in the first century...... I am sure things would have been much different.
