One tragic death I read about back in 1998/99 was when a young Dutch teenager on holiday in the UK broke both her legs whilst skating; and had then refused a needed blood transfusion. That really made me think for along time after!

nitty gritty - Watchtower made a settlement in the Candace Conti case recently. Why would they do that if they just so happened to be innocent in all of this? To build up a case such as hers taking on a powerful organisation like Watchtower, her lawyer MUST have had plenty of evidence to fight her case. Perhaps you should research any available information into the actual case itself. That way you will get a balanced look at the case from all angles. -

in my country one can get dfd for pretty much anything the bullies want to df you for.
but is there any specific guidelines that state one can or cannot be dfd for marrying a non witness.

Fair play to you Simon. This site (though I havent always agreed on certain topics, but at least agree to disagree) has been the only site that opened my eyes. I remember the days when I used to 'obsessively' go to the internet cafe to read the amazing topics on your site all those years ago. Your site led me to reading the book 'crisis of conscience' ( the most amazing book I have ever read). This site is the one site I always have and will continue to gravitate towards. American accents, Bette Midler, Clinton, Rick Fearon, Strathclyde, Morningside
by slimboyfat ini used to enjoy being able to distinguish different local accents, but for some reason i've got worse at it.
i was thinking about this today when i was listening to bette midler on the scottish radio.
i thought to myself i quite liked her accent and also that it reminded me of someone else.

The coolest American accent I liked was John Wayne's accent. He had a strong manly American accent. Also like Matthew Mconaugheys accent which is a deep southern american accent if I am not mistaken? forgive my ignorance if wrong -

i was conviced that jws were god's people (i still think some of them are).
i made it my goal to get baptized as i wanted to be part of the "only" religion that produce such good people.

At our recent assembly I decided to pass the time by marking down how many times Jesus name is mentioned in comparison to Jehovahs. The following is what I jotted down. Jesus - llllll (7 times). There is a sister in our hall and to be fair she is nice. The only think I dislike about her is when she keeps asking me about my job. She is a pioneer and its like she is discreetly having a go at me for being full time. It's got to the point I try to avoid her because she will ask me how my job is going. Also...it's so true about what's said on this thread about the sisters, particularly the gossip. My wife is probably up there with the best of them when it comes to gossip at the hall. Every week it's ' hey won't believe ............
