I've been there before. I've told elders and family members that I was going to do it. They laughed and just assumed I was trying to get attention. Man that pissed me off. It made me want to do it more. thankfully I had made some worldly friends in college who were really helpful. they came over, smoked me out, stayed with me, prayed over me, meditated with me and told me how important I was in their lives. No thanks to any JW, my pagan friends had my back. Thanks Satan! For having some really cool loving people on your team!

4 Suicides I Am Aware Of This Year, Why Elders, COs Are Not Competent To Handle These Matters. (Life Or Death, Your Choice!)
by AvocadoJake ini would like to relate with the first suicide that took place this year, this was more than seven months ago.
this person was deeply distraught and was talking about killing themself.
the conduct of this person started to escalate (deep depression with morbid thoughts.

I just "witnessed" officially for the first time!!!
by NoRegrets ini mean door to door (sort of), not informally to non-witness friends and family!.
so for a few weeks, i have suspected that my neighbor across the hall was being studied with by witnesses.
i wasn't sure but saw a couple of older women leaving with what looked like bibles, but never saw watchtower literature.

O un-witnessed to THREE fourth graders once, 3 JWs in one class! They all were good friends and hung out together. I told them I was a bethelite and a pioneer, and that I discovered that JWs told many false prophecies. I also told them they could not Witness to other kids without permission from each child's parents. Then I got called into the office within about 10 minutes of dismissal bell. that kid must have RUN home and told her mom. The principal was like, "Just be careful on that subject. some of these parents are hyper sensitive about their religion." So I didn't really get in trouble or anything, kust a warning.

The Ideas Thread - all are welcome!
by cedars insorry it's been a while since i posted anything.
i've kind of had my hands full of late.
there are some things i want to say, but i am saving some of it for a more appropriate time.. i thought i would start a simple "ideas thread" as a thread on which we can, well, share our ideas!

anything that involves Biblical discussion is a bad idea I think. Because there is no such thing as a right way to understand the Bible. It's all bull shit. some of it more shit than others. but it's all pure stupidity. I just won't argue over a stupid book. I'd sooner wipe my butt with it in public. Now THAT would be saying something true about the Bible!

I'm up for all those ideas. I'm always up for activism. My ideas are:
1. District convention walk outs. Place 20 or 30 exJWs in diverse locations in the convention center. All dressed and looking like JWs as we all know how to do.
Then right when the baptism questions are asked, one person will stand up and loudly say for the whole convention center to hear, "I can't stand this anymore! i'm getting out of here!" Then another person on the other side of the arena will say, "you know, I'm tired of this life too. I'm gone!" then another , then another and for the next 10 or fifteen minutes will be a parade of JWs walking out very loudly proclaiming that they don't believe it any more. The attendants will not know what to do because noone will be together in the same place. It will disrupt the services but they won't be able to pin it on anyone. then maybe some real JWs will be thinking, "Maybe this is my turn to stand up and walk out. we'll call it "Just Walk Out 2021."
2. A date every year to proclaim the "Jehovah's Witnesses Come Out." Not coming out of the closet, but announcing to one's family and friends that you do not believe in the religion anymore. I think the first day of spring of every year is a good date to have mass coming outs. We can start with some people on this site who don't have the guts to tell their families how they really feel and what they really believe. yeah that's right I'm calling you all out. Do it on the first day of spring 2012.

A brother on the Farm jumped from one silo to the other. The silos are like 100 feet tall. very dangerous. but Frank Lew8s in the infirmary happened to be looking out the window at the time and nailed him. He was dismissed immediately. Cool stunt though.
another brother working in the Dairy dept was told that anything you put in front of the cow's mouth, the cow will lick. this started an 8 year habit / relationship with cows for that brother. Can't remember his name. But he was in the Farm / Dairy dept. for 8 years I remeber, when he was caught doing it to the face of a cow. actually, beastiality got several farm brothers dfd or dismissed over the years. so much so that they started only assigning married brothers to the dairy dept. I'm not sure if that tactic worked.
a brother fell asleep at the wheel doing a night watchman and drove through the wall of the slaughter house with a bunch of pigs in there. Not sure if any pigs were harmed.

It's Time to Stop Saying...
by zengalileo init's time to stop saying that jehovah's witnesses do not accept blood transfusions.
it just isn't true any longer.
i have posted documentary evidence of jws world wide accepting whole platelets , whole plasma, whole white blood cells, their own whole blood after it being stored up to six hours, and evidence of them saying they are "very happy" that the courts ordered the transfusion of their children saving their lives.

Or better yet, say JWs accept 100% of blood. Just as long as you run it down the hall and shake it a bit first.

Yes you are right about hemoglobin. Although what I've read recently on hemoglobin is that it is not very effective. There is hardly a reason to take it if the cells are compromised. AlSo while it's great that they now accept 99% of blood, the most important part of blood arguably, the red blood cells for some reason get a special place on a pedastall. Again, I really think it's just because they are red. I don't think any JW can say why red blood cells are so special and the other 99% are not as special. The color is as good an explanation as any. Anyway, I still think we should just stop saying that JWs don't accept blood. What we should be saying is JWs don't accept the skin of the red blood cells and leave it at that.

Getting hard at morning worship. Yeah, there were some mornings when every single breast in that dining room was just staring at me saying, "Don't I look scruptious?" Morning wood, which is a real phenomenon, pinned me to my seat a few times. i had to shove my hands in my pockets really really quick before we stood up for closing prayer. I'm positive that somebody noticed. I remember once I pretended to drop my cloth napkin right as we were supposed to stand up to cover myself. those thin slacks really didn't give you much coverage. I guess all that SALT PETER didn't do a thing for me.
