Tried for a while. Gave up when I started read the bible through the eyes of a skeptic.

I am trying firefox now, no idea why my posts are invisible with explorer.....

So I have been gone for a bit, and I have been learning what the bible 'really teaches'. No not the WT version. Not sure what I believe on several of the books inspirations, but I am 100% positive that what I'm learning it really teaches no religion or faith teaches. It's hard not having anyone to talk and discuss/compare notes with, so I thought if anybody else was doing the same thing, maybe we can keep in contact.

I learned that "Bible truth" is another oxymoron, like "military intelligence" or "back to the future."

I'm saying what the bible really teaches. Whether it's true or not, what is it actually teaching and foretelling. Everyone seems to have grabbed a few verses here or there and made up their own idea of it while ignoring every contradiction in the rest of the bible to that idea. It does have a certain message and future it foretells, especially on the old testament side. Anyway I thought maybe some others seeing what I am seeing and trying to piece this all together.

one of the best things you can do if you still trust the bible is decide for yourself WHICH books belong and which do not belong.

some other human decided which inspired books you get to read. and they kept a few good ones from you.

do some research into other bible related faiths and see how many books they include in their version.

read the books you haven't read and listen for the ring of truth.

    book of enoch

first and second gospel of adam and eve

    tobit

    wisdom of solomon

    book of jasher

    www.sacred-texts.com

once you read all the ancient writings, you can decide what to believe in.

Yea seeketh truth? Look no further than Moby Dick- here let me help get you started- -

-Call me Ishmael. Some years ago - never mind how long precisely - having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen and regulating the circulation. Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off-then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can. This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the ship.
