for hugging me on lady lee site ...my daughter that is out of the wt .
was on a atv bike & twisted her leg( sue)she has had a big operation stiched from knee to ankle .
i told her not to go on it .she is 61 yrs old .but does anyone every listen to mouthy!????.
Have fun Snoozy, but wear your helmet and knee pads just in case!
something jws say that to a lot to people who have left or are leaving the org.. i find it very a very ironic statement since the wt and awake, or any wt literature for that matter, is never critical of itself and never directly addresses refutation of their doctrine and predictions.... i was raised a witness, as many of you were.
i have been subjected to "one-side-of-the-coin" for almost 2 decades!
the only true way to bring balance to my information is to look at the other side of the coin and give it great consideration.... -sab.
What's the scripture that talks about having cheating scales or two pairs of scales?? (read: a double standard)+
Amos 8:5 "Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?"
casting aside what little you learned about god and christ- are you thrilled with the future of mankind?.
Uncountable TRILLIONS of cells forming elaborate SYSTEMS that work TOGETHER performing timed FUNCTIONS in concert screams design
Yes, but design is not limited solely to the construction details of every particle forming every atom in every protein of every cell forming every creature. The true glory of the universe's creation is the system causing all things, "seen and unseen," to be waht they are. The Creator did not just make a design, did not merely implement a design. The essence of the Genesis moment (aka "Big Bang") is God being the design: the Word, bringing forth at the first moment of time, at the first point of space, the entire universe of matter, energy, space and time that we are part of and are privileged to be dimly aware of.
I see the "creation vs. science" brouhaha as false dichotomy. Those who see only one side are missing part of the mazing fact of our existence. If you would know God, appreciate all the works of creation; if you would know the wonders of the physical world, do not belittle their source. Melded together, these things let us to see our place in the majesty of existence, and to appreciate the privilege of being aware of it in our limited, human way.
Are you going hunting for sasquatch?
I saw the story--he had special prostheses with flippers on the ends, and a snorkel for breathing. Talk about determination!
i see alot of new names here lately and if you look at the log on names here there are thousands who have moved on....every 2 years the posters change.....some vent and leave, others stay on for years.
i guess moving on with your life is a good thing, i think this site helps...any thoughts?.
Just look at the members page. There are 42 pages of "A" member names, at 20 per page except 3 on the last page, that's 823 names right there. So "thousands" is certainly a fair statement, probably an understatement. There's a lot of learning, understanding, support (and arguing) going on here.
i bet people has forgotten me but thats ok because i know they have helped me a lot on here.. .
anyways i think the last time i been on here i mentioned my jw sister not going to my wedding.
for those that do remember my story, the wedding was beautiful on the beach in key west, fl!
Butterfly, congratulations to you and your husband on your coming baby!
I understand that you're in a tricky position, keeping one foot in and one foot out for the sake of your family. I also understand that it isn't the first time you've been through the DF/reinstatement cycle. If you do go forward with this, I wish you well and pray you have the strength to succeed. But please consider the possible consequences: consequences for you, your child, and your husband.
but really I promise him I will never ever let the religion come between us! I promise.
I'm sure you mean that, Butterfly. I remember giving and receiving that same promise, one long ago day. We were able to keep it for a long time, for more than a decade. But the line between Witness life and family life crept steadily, slowly inward. If my experience were summarized in one lesson, it is this: the Watchtower organization sets its own boundaries as they see fit; they will not honor your boundaries nor even respect your right to have them.
So please, be careful and proceed with both eyes wide open. I wish the best to you and your growing family!
i've been in pain too long.
i have this whole entry i want to post but i don't know if it is too long to read.
i'll post it in parts.
Welcome, lil.lady! You will find support and learn much on this forum.
The story about your friend with the baby is a sad one. I hope the so-called "father" is at least supporting his child. Think about what they say at the Kingdom Hall, then think about how he behaved, and how his father behaved at your friend's JC. Actions speak louder than words.
my wife and i became proud parents to a 7 pound 2 ounce baby girl on september 16, 2010 at 4:50 a.m. est..
Congratulations, Gary! Daughters are a blessing, enjoy being her father.
