Vote early, go to work, go home to eat dinner and mess around with hobby stuff and check into JWN, leave the TV and radio off, ignore all the speculation on results until the ballots get counted.
Attention practicing Witnesses: if you refuse to vote, don't gripe about the government!

More are scarred than scared, I think. Most of the folks here have left "scared" behind, or they probably wouldn't be on this forum. But there are many old wounds, which leave enduring marks even when the healing is done.

Where else could we go?
Who else is going to listen to our stories and understand them?
Where else can we go to support each other?

Were the GB members victims, too?
They certainly were before they became GB members, when they were seduced or born into the organization. They may have, probably did, fall for the same spiel they themselves were writing.
But that doesn't matter. As they rise through the ranks, from publisher to MS, then to elder, then to overseer, and ultimately onto GB they accept increasing responsibility within the organization, and as GB members are the final authority within the organization. Victims or not, they have a duty to the other members of the organization. They must question every assumption they hold, every decision they make, because their words and decisions affect the bodies and souls of millions of other people who are trusting them to make the right moves and not mislead them. When they make a mistake they are obliged to rectify it, when they don't know the answer they must admit it. If they realize these obligations are beyond them, they should step down.
Yes, I think they probably are among the victims. But for people in positions of authority, that is no excuse!
Ray Franz did the honorable thing, telling the world what was happening, not playing "yes-man" to hold onto his status. May he rest in peace!

Toilet quandries: The seat: Up/Down and Toilet paper direction
by Terry inthose who have lived with the opposite sex know of the frustration of being lectured about some triviality.. the toilet seat/paper controversy is among the most inflammatory.. men who forget to put the toilet seat back down inspire anger, rage, resentment and the stern lecture.. the easiest solution is to train the man to always sit down when he goes.. .
others argue over the direction of the toilet paper: forward overlap or backward underlap.. .
how do you deal with these issues and how violent do you become?.

What an inning!
Methinks the Texas pitching staff will really appreciate the travel days, they'll need some rest after two nights like they've had in San Francisco.

When Lucy got up in the middle of the night and that saw Linus hadn't returned, she went out in the cold to bring her brother home from that freezing pumpkin patch and tuck him into a warm bed. Another "evil" apostate shows love and kindness to a misguided, believing family member!
