Can we all just take a step back and appreciate something positive in one another..even if they piss us off?
Don't duck and run, that's what others were thinking but didn't dare to say.
band on the run,.
used the words theatened, thugged , posse, and ghettoese.
in a post of hers and claims this so-called "posse".

some dude with a spray can and a box of matches has been out fighting the good fight in a whales vagina (sandiego).. however he is undoubtedly a mentalist.. .

I agree with EP. Arson and vandalism are crimes, not "fighting the good fight" (it's also probably a "hate crime", which carries more severe penalties).
Why applaud a criminal act that feeds their persecution complex and creates justifiable sympathy for the Watchtower organization?
and so it's back to work... on monday, jan. 9th!
for those of you who rejoice with me (the greatest of love and peace to you!)...
i am just a tad saddened.
Congratulations, Shelby!
hi, i am new to studying with the jw's and would like to know they best way to start.
any suggestions?.
Welcome, DylanBeam!
I recommend using your Bible, or preferably Bibles (several different translations), reading complete passages in their proper context. Don't be fooled by those who jump from verse to verse, book to book, connecting unrelated phrases to make the Bible to says things which it does not. Emulate the Beroeans, examining the scriptures to see if what they tell you is really so (Acts 17:10-12).
REPLY TO USER "MOUTHY" - If you are not a Jehovah's Witness please to not submit a reply!
May I suggest showing a little respect to your elders? Mouthy really does have decades of experience in the Watchtower organization. You will learn much from her, if you are but humble enough to listen to what she says.
the other sheep should never forget that their salvation depends on.
their active support of christ's anointed "brothers".
still on earth.
So instead of helping destitute widows and orphans, they say that passage really is the GB saying "GIMME! GIMME! GIMME!"? How can you answer that better than with Matthew 25:41-46?
He will answer them, ‘Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.’
there is probably nothing more dangerous you could have in your home than a 5 week old fir tree that has gotten dry and crispy.. keep a box of dynamite under the bed or leave a loaded gun where the kids can get at it, nothing has more potential for disaster than one of these tree bombs.. i have spent many a sleepless night with one of these in the house, counting the days until christmas so i could get it out of the house.
i hate them.
we have gone to a fold-up plastic table top since all the kids left home and we only have that because the g-kids always want to see a tree when they are over.. christmas trees - bah humbug!.
When you put it up doesn't make a lot of difference. What matters is when it was cut, and how it is maintained after that. Make a new, fresh cut at the bottom when you put it up, and never let its water pan go dry. Or use an artificial tree (as I do), especially if you're going to be away for any length of time so you can't keep an eye on the water.
i am looking for court cases and news reports on underage children being denied blood transfusions and as a result either having the court intervene or death.
any report especially 2008-2011 will work very well.. also any jw publication that says jw's die rather than accepting blood.
also any jw publication that encourages this practice in regards children especially official documents and recent publications (2005-2011 or whenever the last doctrinal change was).. .
Someone posted an excellent brief for JW child support cases
Watchtower custody pamphlet links: Freeminds.org critique (this is not the complete text, but does cite pertinent sections your lawyer should be aware of), and a prior thread on JWN. You didn't say of there was already a custody agreement in place--that is an area where you need professional help, somebody who knows both the laws where you live and also has experience with how the local court and judges have ruled in similar cases.
I hope it turns out well for you!
my sister gave me a nook black and white for xmas.
i can't decide whether to upgrade to the color version.
she says that color has glare.
If you want it mainly for reading books, keep the black-and-white model. Battery life is far longer (long battery life is what the black and white displays were designed for), and I prefer a device that does the book reading job really well to a jack-of-all-trades that sacrifices that function just to do other things best done by other tools.
Only get color if you want web-browsing, photos, software apps, and the like on the same device. If you do want all those functions in one package, IMO, a tablet computer with an ebook reader app is a better choice because it has a better quality, larger screen.
FWIW, I use a black-and-white Kindle with the mini keyboard. The keyboard is good enough to take short notes and make highlights while you read. It only need charging about once a month; no problem with the battery not lasting through a long plane flight. If needing a reading light is a problem (such as for reading in bed), the same kind of LED clip-on reading light you can use on a paper book will work for the e-book reader.
the watchtower endlessly prates on about pagan traditions in popular holidays - while the bible itself is loaded with subtle pagan religious ideas - such as wicked spirits being cast "into tartarus" (a pagan greek place in which the rebels against zeus got imprisoned) or "sacred secret" - a term the apostle paul likes that was adopted from pagan 'mystery' religions.. then we can throw in the reference to being divinely 'called christians' in acts - which uses a pagan term that refers to demonic oracles of the day.. of course, the watchtower has no objection to accumulating millions of pieces of paper that feature occult symbols (any dollar bill!).
in recent years, for good measure, they have added birthdays and thanksgiving to the official banned list, despite the sketchiest justification for doing so.
if birthdays are wrong simply because they figure in two negative accounts, then it makes much more sense to ban dogs as pets because of all the negativity in the bible about them!.
Like going door to door, like refusing to salute the flag, like refusing blood transfusions, like other practices "unique to Jehovah's Witnesses": disrespect for holidays is a sign of Watchtower membership, as well as a loyalty test. Those are the real purposes that are never spoken of.
i just got my offical grades from my school.
for the first time ever in my life i earned a 4.0 gpa for this last semester.
i made the dean's list again for the fall 2011 semester.
Congratulations, Noni--you've earned it!
