I am sorry for your loss. No parent should have to endure losing their child to an act of evil.

My son was murdered today
by truman ini have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

... does the Watchtower provide for orphans and widows?
... does the Watchtower provide food and clothing to orphans and widows?
... does the Watchtower have a charity for orphans and widows?
(NOLAW)
Does [Jewish] any[Catholic] church[Lutheran] do[Islamic] so[Mormon]?
The Watchtower Society is an exception, a rare religion that does not have an active humanitarian program. You don't have to agree on doctrine to agree on human decency!

The Father abandons his Son
by XPeterX inabout 2000 years ago,a dying man was hunging from a cross for hours.at some point he looked at the sky and cried out "father, father why have you forsaken me?
".but no one saved him,no one cared.minutes after that he died a horrible death.. my question is: if jehovah abandoned christ like this, what can be said about the rest of his followers?those who put their trust in his teachings?won't he forsake them too like he did with his only son?.

What Glenster said. The end of the Psalm is:
"future generations will be told about the Lord, and proclaim his deliverance to a people yet unborn, saying that he has done it."

Do the Jehovah Witnesses break up families?
by trailerfitter inthe answer is yes in my case.
for some of you wonderful people on here will remember i asked a few questions and was concerned about my wife becoming a jehovahs witness,...well, she is baptised now and fully fleged (committed).. i have been called possessed by satan , mentally ill, a schitzophrenic and was beaten emotionally and mentally.
eventually i had to leave our house after 2 years of this situation getting worse.

Sorry to hear of another going through the nightmare of a JW/"worldly" marital breakdown. Don't second-guess yourself that it might have turned out better if you had held your tongue and not discussed WT doctrine. That doesn't work either (i.e., it didn't for me). If you haven't read The Eclectic Marriage (at Freeminds.org), please do--at least some of the scenarios it describes will be familiar to you.
Please take care of yourself and the children as best you can. (I would wager that one reason for the break-up was your "worldly influence" on them, not forcing them to go to the Hall and out in "service" every weekend.)

My Daughters House Burned Down
by Babyruth inmy daughters house burned down and her and her husband and three children got out with just the jammies on their back.
when her husband called his parents ( dad is elder and both parents are regular pioneers) the next morning, they told him they were sorry that they were unable to come and help as 'big wig' brother, head of the branch had just died and they were going to be with his grieving wife and son!?!
it's been a week now and they are still a no-show as they are too busy with their bible studies and service to even see their son and three grandchildren.

I am glad they are safe, and have somebody like you to care for them!

What Is Your Opinion?
by allyouneedislove inhow would you respond to the following statement:.
no one was negatively affected or died by heeding past understandings on blood fractions, organ transplant, hemodilution, etc.
most of the past understandings on medical procedures existed when the treatments were not being used on a large scale.. .

BANNED words in the Education System (eye opening!)
by Terry innew york (cbsnewyork) george carlin is rolling over in his grave.. the new york city department of education is waging a war on words of sorts, and is seeking to have words they deem upsetting removed from standardized tests.. marla diamond talks to walcott, student about banned words.
fearing that certain words and topics can make students feel unpleasant, officials are requesting 50 or so words be removed from city-issued tests.. the word dinosaur made the hit list because dinosaurs suggest evolution which creationists might not like, wcbs 880s marla diamond reported.
halloween is targeted because it suggests paganism; a birthday might not be happy to all because it isnt celebrated by jehovahs witnesses.. julie lewis family celebrates christmas and kwanzaa, but she told cbs 2s emily smith she wants her children to appreciate and learn about other holidays and celebrations.. theyre going to meet people from all walks of life and theyre going to have to learn to adjust, lewis said.. words that suggest wealth are excluded because they could make kids jealous.

"Local news" in New York has effects far beyond the city limits. Not only is it a large city in its own right, but also what they do today other cities will be doing in the near future. So yes, I do care about absurd actions taken by NYC officials. What happens there is likely to be imitated.

Are there any former Catholics here who have these longings?
Yes, I had them. I made the decison to return after attending Easter Vigil in 2010, so I am no longer "former Catholic" (I prefer to say "lapsed Catholic").
I suggest you see catholicxjw.org, if you haven't already. Tom Cabeen's article on the Eucharist is particularly appropriate for the Easter Season.
