"Be careful, Janet! He's always been a light sleeper!" She barely stopped herself from speaking aloud. If Brad woke up, there would be no denying she'd made that second key. Both the sheriff and the 24-hour locksmith would be on their way in an instant. Let him start dreaming again, then she could let herself out as quietly as she let her self in when she heard the shower start. Let Brad keep on thinking Oozy's the one that's been into those papers on his desk...

I wonder if any of those who will knock on my door will be the sons or daughters of someone who is posting here.
They might be my kids, thank you for being kind to them!

Work Related: Am I correct for being angry?
by Elsewhere inmy manager expects (never directly ordered me), but expects me to have my work laptop booted up at home every evening after work, all weekend long and every holiday so i can monitor my email and promptly respond to emails.. .
am i wrong for being pissed off about this?.
the company i work for is always talking about their "work life balance" program for employees.

Elsewhere, if they're really serious about "work-life balance", then they shouldn't object if you take Monday morning off after dealing with company business over the weekend. Yeah, like the pointy-haired CLASS would ever agree to that!

I'm another who was married to a JW. Freeminds led me here several years ago, and I signed up to post actively once the divorce was in place. This site has helped me understand why my Ex did and said the things she did, telling me how others coped in similar circumstances, and to learn to forgive what can't be undone. I'll keep coming as long as there's more for me to learn and understand, and for as long as I can be of some modest assistance to others who wake up one morning wondering "What happened?"

With Heavy Heart
by PSacramento insometimes we find a place and it feels like home, it is accepting and understanding.. then, sometimes, that place becomes cold and inhospitible.. when i first joined here i felt i have found a good place.. people like narkissos, leolaia and others impressed me with their knowledge of scripture and motivated me to learn more for myself.. others touched me with the stories of their pan and hurt, pain and hurt that i was feeling also.. i don't think i ever offended anyone with my views on christianity and if i have i sincerly apologise for that was not my intent.. but things change and sometimes home isn't home anymore.... this site had been invalable to me for my understanding what is wrong with the jw's relgion and the wt, it has strengthened my faith and belief.. here i found people of religon, faith and love.. here i found agnostics and athiest that challenged my views and made me question, they made me a believe via reason and not "blind faith".. for that, i thank all of you, especially the "jeff's" ( ak and alltime), i also say a special thanks to leavingthewt, many of his posts made me feel welcomed and made me think and be a better person.. chalam, bts, dd and so many others, i thank you from my heart for your kind words over these many months.. people like mary and sylvia and so many others filled my heart with love with their stories.. all the best to you my dear brothers and sisters.. .

I'll miss you and your comments, PSac. Whether I agree or not, you present your side well and make me think. That's invaluable when you're trying to get yourself re-centered, and I appreciate the opportunity to learn from you and all the others here. Please check in now and then, and I hope to see your posts here again.
God speed to you!

JW boy and 'worldly' girl - love torn in two
by nekoreichan inhey everyone, .
i have a question about being in a relationship with a jw boy.. we were friends since the beginning of our senior year in high school.
i called him oniichan ( older brother in japanese) so it'll just be for fun.

Wecome, nekoreichan!
Add my voice to Black Sheep, Garyneal, and DGP. You really need to understand what you and Oniichan are up against. Making a relationship work is hard enough without the outside pressure from the congregation and Oniichan's family. That pressure is real, it is strong, and it is persistent. It is used to wear down his and your resistance and bring you and your relationship under the organization's control. Don't jump to any sudden decisions in reaction to the congregation and his family. Oniichan needs to take the time to discover his real self, and you need to understand what you're getting into if you proceed. Take it slow, be really sure of what you're doing.
Please visit freeminds.org and read the articles there about how the JW religion affects relationships and controls its members. Having lived through the experience, I assure you: what they say is accurate.

Do YOU donate blood?
by Quillsky inif you do, what are your motivations?.
if you don't, why not?.
-
GLTirebiter
Yes, I do. My blood card is a donor ID card, and my next donation is scheduled for next Monday. Why do I donate?
- To help save others' lives
- To repay in kind for donated blood that helped my brother, sister, sister-in-law, etc. when they had major surgery
- Because a time may come when my own life depends on another person's donation
- In other words, To do for others as I would want them to do for me!
